WHO: Finnick & Annie
WHAT: Ultrasound!
WHEN: Today
WHERE: Hospital
WARNINGS: None?
He didn't care much for the trial stuff that had happened. Selfishly, if only because of how it had affected Annie. There wasn't much he had been able to do but comfort her whenever she got home if she needed it. (Which he disliked even more, because it made him feel so powerless.)
But the baby was beginning to provide more distraction. It was odd, being on this side of things. He had seen their kid already. Met him. Knew what he liked and didn't like, and knew how prone he was to wandering off. But it all felt different, because he was here with her while she was pregnant. Something that he would never have in any other place. (Part of him was scared. Scared to get attached to this all again. But that part, as always, faded to the background. Because that was always how it had been with them. He had no choice but to love her, to do everything with her in the most absolute way he could. They'd rarely had anything but the present. That was all they had here, too, so he ignored the fear of losing her again, the fear that he could be taken away. That everything could be lost at a moment's notice.)
Instead he focused on being here, with her. Of doing as much as a parent as he could.
And today, that meant an ultrasound. He was excited for it -- which he thought maybe had to be a little strange, but it didn't matter. This was a part of it. So, he settled down next to her, holding her hand.
