Character updates!
Since a number of characters were/are hospitalized, we figured that having a place to keep track of it all was a good idea so that people can know what to say (or not say) about the injured characters. So here it is. If you have a character who was treated or is being treated for injuries, please reply to this with information on how long they are there and a general idea of what their condition is, as well as whether or not they are being allowed to have visitors and when you plan on having them discharged.

Remember, the hospital that the students will be in is on-campus, so if their parents are allowing them to have visitors and their condition is stable, students should still be able to visit at approved times.

For reference, there were five (permanent NPC) fatalities from the school and a large number of injuries.

ETA: The fatalities were: one middle school student, two high school students, a college student, and one cadet who died in the line of duty while helping with rescues.

Paige took care of her little scrapes and bruises herself, but had to have her arm x-rayed and then got a pretty cast and everything, all on-site. Her mother showed up and Paige was released into her custody and stayed in DC until midday on Sunday, when the family headed back to campus.

She slept at "home" Sunday night but will probably be sleeping in the dorms again starting Tuesday night, because it's easier. She went to class on Monday, but was a lot less focused than she usually is.

Sam got himself dead, and got to occupy a morgue table until around 5 or 6am Sunday, when he popped back awake. Unfortunately for him, he only gets to 'heal' his fatalities, so he's still got a potload of cuts and bruises and a broken arm (left). Woo, he and Paige can match! He got kept in the hospital in DC for a few more hours after, for observation just in case, then got shipped home with the family around mid day.

Despite the desire for family solidarity he didn't sleep at 'home' with everyone else, b/c he doesn't really feel inclined to give his sibs a front row seat to the nightmares he expects to make a reappearance post revisiting the lovely experience of dying buried in rubble. Not to mention the whole claustrophobia and fear of the dark thing that he's got a pretty good handle on in the familiarity of his room....

Daytime he's probably splitting between hanging with any family who wants the company and sitting around at the hospital (probably with Bobby?) waiting on Kitty to become coherent.

Jay died but got better and ended up waking up about 1 A.M. Sunday morning. He was released into his mother's custody and shuttled back to school with the rest of his field trip siblings.

He spent the night wherever Lizzie spent the night, which was probably "at home" so as not to get his ass beat so soon after rezzing. Thank you, Roberto.

He's just going to hit him once. In the shoulder or chest or something. :p

Kitty was in pretty bad shape and was taken to the ER right away, where they treated her for a broken jaw, a concussion and a little bit of brain swelling, 2 broken ribs, and a dislocated shoulder. She was completely unconscious for a while, and won't be completely aware of anything until Tuesday afternoon, thanks to a combination of lots of pain, lots of drugs, and Kitty being roughly the size of your average twelve year old.

She was moved to the Reyes Medical Center on Sunday. Her parents are staying on campus, and are okay with her having visitors, though they want to limit it to 3 at a time... but will probably give up on enforcing that rule once she's awake. She probably won't be back in her dorm room until Friday evening. She regrets to inform everyone that due to her jaw being wired shut, she won't be as loud as usual.

Lois has a concussion, bruised ribs, a sprained ankle, and a few wounds that caused her to lose a lot of blood. She was sent to a DC hospital for scans, staples, and stitches before being shipped to the hospital in New York. Her mom was out of town and unable to catch a flight until Sunday, so Lois spent Saturday alone, except for any visitors.

She was discharged late Sunday and rather than go home, she's staying on campus but not going to class. She's weak and in some pain, but she's getting through it. Her mom has been around a lot.

Jubilee is fine and will be spending the majority of her time camping in the hospital, waiting for Kitty to wake up. Her mom flew out on Saturday and has been staying nearby. The Lee family sent Get Well Soon baskets to all of the students who were injured. The baskets were plainly concocted by Jubilee and are jam-packed with candy, weird little toys, hospital-bed-friendly games, novelty bandaids, super soft slippers, and super soft bathrobes. Jubilee is still chewing over whether there's any gift that can adequately thank Clint and Neena.

Kevin got himself some cracked ribs, a myocardial contusion (bruised heart), a profoundly lacerated kidney, leading to a simple nephrectomy of his left kidney, as well as assorted less drastic internal damage that was tidied up along with the surgery, and a compound fracture of his left femur, which had to be surgically reduced and pinned. All surgeries, of course, performed (VERY carefully) the traditional way since most healers need touch. He did get the healing of his external surgical stitches sped up by a guy who can do very low level healing w/o needing to touch, but that's it.

His parents drove up and got there on Sunday afternoon, once SHIELD contacted them. He'll be in the Reyes Center recovering for a little over a week, and while he'll be awake and allowed visitors by Monday evening he likely won't be very good company for them as he'll be busy FREAKING THE HELL OUT ABOUT JOSH, and sitting with him as much as possible once he's allowed upright...or to hell with being allowed, once he can drag himself to his feet and stagger down a hall pulling his IV stand with him, so they might as well just make everyone's life easier, reduce the chance of him doing himself an injury, and wheel him down. Translation, starting Monday night he'll be spending every waking hour he's allowed, and some non-waking ones, sitting with Josh. And bitching when they make him leave...other than giving Josh's parents some time alone to sit with him, b/c he's not a complete dick just reallyreally worried.

Josh is in a coma.

He suffered a compound skull fracture that due to being a healer was not immediately treated resulting in intracranial hemorrhage and brain swelling that required surgery. When he wakes up, he is going to suffer from focal neurological deficits for a while.

He also suffered a shattered shoulder blade, a fractured collarbone and comminuted fracture of his right arm. So he's also sporting a raised full arm cast. Lastly, he broke his pelvis, and had to have it pinned together. All of the damage to Josh happened along his right side. The little girl he was with, suffered no injuries.

Josh is going to be comatose and unresponsive for a full week.

Warren broke both wings in the initial blast. After having them set, they healed on their own. He went to the hospital to give blood and was otherwise just fine when he returned home Sunday. Except for the part where he ate like a starving person and fell asleep for several hours. Not necessarily in that order.

Grandpa Worthington (Warren I) will be on campus to assist in any way he can. Warren's parents are in Australia and won't be able to make it back for at least two days. They assure the press they still have a living heir and that Warren is just fine. They appreciate the concern.

Petra regained consciousness soon after arriving at the hospital and was kept overnight for observation, then released. She has some spectacular bruises and numerous cuts, but none that required stitching. Her main problem is a continual headache from overusing her powers. It'll fade by early Tuesday.

She'll be visiting anyone she can (especially Kevin, Josh, Kitty and Lois) but really, anyone in the hospital can expect at least a short visit from her, even if they haven't really interacted before.

EVERYONE who was hurt, even minorly, should expect a boo boo bunny sometime around Tuesday. She'll be working on something for those who weren't hurt, but that might take some time.

Hank sustained some scrapes and cut, including a particularly bad one just above his eyebrow; it required all of two stitches. His time in the hospital was extremely brief.

People may have seen one of Jamie's dupes get killed by falling debris, so there may be/have been some confusion as to whether he was alive or dead. He wasn't physically injured, but it was extremely traumatic.

Clint: No injuries at all.

Teddy: Teddy was literally skewered from behind by a flying piece of debris. He was rushed to the local hospital where it was assumed he'd die on the table. Once the metal was out, however, he began to heal. Brian sprang him from the hospital when Teddy began refusing treatment. He's healing all injuries and will be fine within a week.

Mark: One or two small cuts, none of which required stitches.

Julian: Massive, massive injuries, including a severe head injury. His legs were crushed, his lung punctured, and he has not yet woken up. His parents will arrive soon and insist he be taken back to Cali despite the fact that the best healers are at the school. He'll be out for a little while.

Jared: No injuries.

Hope: Just some very minor scraps and bruises.

Ali: Minor concussion, bruises and some cuts. She was kept in the hospital long enough to make sure the head injury wasn't serious and to get everything checked out.
