Jay - Sunday afternoon
It was still dismally cold out as far as 'Berto was concerned, but the sun was out, so he'd dressed in thick layers against the chill wind and dragged Jay out to soak up as much of it as he could. He hated the way the cold seemed to seep into his very bones, and sometimes it felt like he could count every moment of increasing sunlight as they moved towards spring, even when clouds darkened the sky in a gray pall, and his cheer increased in lockstep with the lengthening of the days.

He pulled his knitted cap farther down over his ears and shivered melodramatically, though he tipped his face up towards the wintry sun for a moment, almost visibly basking, before shifting his attention back to Jay and passing the ball back to him with a sharp tap of his instep. "I still do not understand why people choose to live their lives in this icebox," he teased.

He shuffled into the bed as carefully as he could and tried his best to do just that.
