Piotr was still pretty certain this wasn't the best idea ever. He'd drawn nude pictures before, yes, it was part of getting anatomy down, and he'd taken art classes that even had a live model, but that was in a class. With a model he didn't know, and it was easy to think of just the aesthetics, of just drawing.

This was a bedroom. With one of his closest friends, and no one else in the room. It just seemed - different. And yes, Piotr knew that in all liklihood, once he got started on the drawing, he would be able to focus completely and just think of the art - that was one reason why he drew, it allowed him to clear his mind and think of nothing but getting the images out on paper - but right now, and until then, he was kind of nervous.

And he was refusing to think of after.

He'd bundled his art supplies under his arm, and he knocked with his free hand when he got to Anna's room. "It's me, Anna," he called in.

	"Okay." She pulled both of her shirts up over her head, trying her best not to acknowledge any potential awkwardness. So far, it was all things that Pete had seen before. She'd worn shorts and sports bras to train in on occasion, so it wasn't like it was something brand new to him. "If you get too quiet, I can always just talk to myself. Not a problem." Right. Not awkward at all. And it definitely wasn't like Pitor had to fight a brief, instinctive urge to avert his eyes or anything.

He chuckled slightly, and convinced himself that it didn't sound a bit nervous at all. "I'll make sure to clarify if you're talking to me or yourself before I answer, then." He gripped the back of her desk chair. "All right if I sit in this?"

"Thanks," she grinned, giving him a thumbs-up. She nodded at the chair, then glanced around the room. There weren't a ton of options, in terms of where she could be, but she figured it was best to ask him anyway.

"Where should I be? And should I... um," she waved one hand in the air as she tugged her sweatpants off with the other. "Should I be standing? Sitting? Floating upside-down?"

	"I, um." He gave her a bit of a smile. "It shouldn't matter in terms of the drawing, the lighting's pretty much all the same in here. So whatever's most comfortable for you? "Got it." Being on the bed seemed like the most comfortable option, and once her pants were off, she folded them and dropped them on top of her shirts, then moved over toward the bed. "Exciting as floating probably looks, I feel like being upside down and naked would probably not do my boobs any favor."

"I'm okay with sitting or laying. It's your drawing, Petey. You pick which." That saved her the trouble of having to decide. Once they figured out how she was going to be posing, she'd ditch the underwear. But until then, they were staying on. Not that they were really much protection against anything, but other than the legally mandatory red bracelet, they were all she still had on.

He should definitely not reply to that. Especially since his first thought was to make some comment about how he doubted any position could make her look unfavourable, and then his second was to make some joke about her being concerned with her breasts' appearance. Neither of which were likely good ideas.

Piotr considered that for a moment, then said, "Laying down would probably be best, I'd think. More of a natural position to draw." And as long as he could just focus on the whole drawing part, his mind wouldn't start wandering off down the Anna-will-soon-be-naked part.

	Anna nodded, taking a deep breath before hooking her thumbs under the waistband of her panties and tugging them down. Piotr was definitely not staring. In fact, he was so definitely not staring that it was probably pretty obvious that he was doing his best not to stare.

It was just - Anna.

"Um." He considered that briefly, looking at her without looking at her, which turned out to actually be really difficult. "Back up. If you don't mind being propped up on your elbows for awhile, and, um, letting your hair down, that would be perfect."

Art. It was for art. It was getting a bit easier, the more Piotr was thinking about the actual drawing - and the contrast of Anna's white streak with the rest of her hair, and the dark hair over her shoulders would be lovely.

	Back up was good. Back up was great. She could definitely do that. She nodded, reaching back to pull her hair out of its ponytail and run her hands through it, taking care to be as un-sexy as possible while completely naked and sitting on a bed. Un-sexy. Right. That was definitely not sexy. Anna was in no way at all sexy. And this was probably a really bad time for him to start suspecting he'd been aware of just how sexy Anna was for quite some time.

"That's great," he said, sitting in the chair and setting his supplies down on the floor next to him, taking out his new sketchbook and pencils. "Um. You can go on one elbow and to the side, if you want, or both elbows and staying kind of flat, or whatever's most comfortable for you, really."

She watched him setting up his supplies and nodded, shifting a little bit to test out what was more comfortable. One elbow and to the side seemed like it would be more comfortable for a longer stretch of time, since her other arm could at least be relaxed, and she settled into position and looked up at him again... then realized that maybe that wasn't where he wanted her to be looking. "Where should I look? I think I'm running out of dumb questions, by the way."

Piotr watched her shift, sketching out a few lines absently with his pencil, a few little practice things to help him get into it.

He blinked at her comment, then laughed. "They're very valid," he told her. "If I had more experience at this, I'd be more adept at giving you suggestions before you had to ask. Where you're looking's just fine, as long as you don't mind looking at me for a bit."

"I appreciate that," he told her dryly. He waited a few more moments for her to be completely settled, then flipped to the next page in his sketchbook and started.

He'd wondered if his hand would start shaking or something - which had been another reason for the practicing - but if nothing else, muscle memory wouldn't allow it, and his strokes were confident and flowing.

"It shouldn't take too long, since I'll just be doing a sketch," he told her. "Depending on how much detail and shading I end up doing, likely somewhere between twenty and forty minutes. I'm aiming for closer to twenty, but sometimes something just doesn't look right and I get carried away."

He was - actually doing better, now that he was drawing. It was easier to segment it in his mind as just art.

Anna shot him a grin in response. Looking at Piotr for extended periods of time wasn't a problem. It was a little bit weird since she was naked, but other than that it wasn't bad at all.

"Ten-four," she replied, reminding herself not to actually nod just before she did it. She went silent for a moment, watching the pencil move. It was strange, knowing that he was drawing her but not having any idea what it looked like. Probably not much. Yet, at least. Lifting her eyes up from the sketchbook, she asked, "So people actually do this for a whole classroom full of students? I couldn't do that. At all."

Piotr'd definitely been right about the contrast of her hair. Actually seeing it was making him almost itch to draw it, which tended to happen with drawings he got really into. And, fortunately, tended to produce the best results. And, of course, the rest of Anna was incredibly lovely as well.

"I couldn't, either," he agreed. "But yeah, people actually do. Maybe it gets less weird for them the more they do it?"

He continued to sketch silently for a few moments, then, without looking up from the drawing, said, "Thank you, by the way. For volunteering."

"I don't know. I can't really see it getting much less weird. Though I think it's more a trust kind of thing, for me." Actually being naked wasn't a problem. It was the trusting people to not walk up to you and try to physically move you into another pose or something. Even though literally the only thing she was wearing was that bright red warning band, she wouldn't have even considered it if it was for someone she didn't know and trust.

"I mostly did it to see if you'd come up with excuses to not have to do it," she grinned. "I'm surprised you didn't just keep on tacking more edits up after the first one."

"Yeah, I guess it would be," he said quietly. He considered adding, 'thank you for trusting me, then,' to that, but decided that thanking her once while she was laying naked on her bed was probably enough. Repeated thank yous would possibly end up making him sound like he was just really grateful to see her naked.

He chuckled a bit at that. "I came up with a lot, actually, I just felt really lame using them." And some of them were more like reasons than excuses, and those were even worse.

"I didn't expect it to explode like that," he admitted. "By that time, I'd decided that just going with it all was probably my safest bet."

"Yeah? Like what?" She was more than happy to judge his lameness as a distraction from the lack of her regular layers. Sort of like how if she kept talking, she was less likely to be aware of it. Or at least she was less likely to seem aware of it, and that mattered more. "That's probably smart. Going with it, I mean. Not the whole not expecting it part. As soon as those two get involved, you should expect. Always."

"Lame things you'd see through in two seconds," he told her, switching to another pencil to better work on the detail of her hair. "I actually lost my supplies. My roommate got sick. I forgot the way to your room." 'I actually think I wouldn't at all mind seeing you naked, and probably shouldn't draw that,' but he wasn't going to say that one aloud.

"I figured you meant going with it. Not expecting it was definitely not smart, considering the result," he said.

He normally didn't talk much while he was drawing - but then, that might have been because he normally didn't draw when hanging out with people - but having to split his concentration between getting the drawing perfect and talking to her meant there was no room left for him to really think about the whole naked thing.

After he was finished, of course, was probably a whole different story. But that was future Piotr's problem.

"Sick roommate is a good multi-purpose excuse," she decided, even though it really wasn't. "I usually add in something about how when she pukes, the whole bathroom lights up and gives me headaches."

"I'm going to assume that you mean the result from them, not the result happening right now." She raised an eyebrow at him, trying to look offended and not laugh and not break the pose, which was becoming more and more difficult as she suddenly became aware of an itch on her nose.

He chuckled, resisting the temptation to full out laugh, as laughing made it a bit difficult to control the movement of the pencil. "All right, I came up with one more or less acceptable excuse. I supposed that's a plus," he said. "And the headache-inducing lights are a nice touch."

And once again, he had to resist the urge to laugh. "I'd threaten to draw you with that expression, but I don't really think I want a sketch of you looking all offended at me-" and naked "-in my sketchbook. Of course I meant the result from them."

Piotr switched pencils again. "Actually, the result happening right now is worth it," he said absently, focusing on getting the shadows playing over her just right. "You're very beautiful, I've always liked drawing you."

"Thank you. I thought so too." She'd only actually used that excuse once, and was pretty sure that it had been completely obvious to the recipient of the excuse that she was lying. Still, for a spur of the moment thing, it hadn't been bad.

She opened her mouth to inform him that if he did have an angry looking picture of her, it might actually be worth more... at least with the kids who were still propagating rumors about her murdering other students. But then she remembered that not only did she not want to talk about it, but she also did not want to suggest handing around a naked picture to the rest of the school, no matter how tasteful the nudity was.

"Thanks," she smiled, blushing ever so slightly because of the whole naked and being complimented thing. Maybe a change of subject was in order. Maybe steering it away from the compliments just a little bit. "So. Is this what you were doing that time I got back to school and you'd magically disappeared?"

"It's the truth, but you're still welcome," he told her. And the picture was coming out very well, so far, though he didn't want to jinx it by saying so.

Then he smiled slightly. "A lot of it, yes. Working in my parent's restaurant and working on my art." That's generally what he told everyone who asked what he'd been up to for the year, but Anna being Anna, she got more. "I hadn't actually planned on it, but I also hadn't expected to get invited into the cadet program. I needed some time to figure things out."

She smiled and scrunched up her nose, more because of the itch than because of what he'd said, and she closed her eyes for a moment to try to focus on something else that wouldn't result in her moving too much that it would ruin his picture. Asking him about his year off would do.

"Yeah... I didn't. They didn't ask me right away, and it kind of... I get why they didn't, but it was what I'd wanted to do." S.H.I.E.L.D., of course, was only doing the responsible thing by not inviting an unstable person to join their ranks, but it hadn't made it any less shitty when eighteen rolled around and she was still sidelined. "You know... family thing and all."
