Jay - Ipanema Beach, backdated to...sometime during spring break
The girls were off down the beach, playing in the surf and collecting admirers, and had left Jay and 'Berto to guard their bags and towels. Which was only fair, really, though 'Berto was somewhat uncertain about the wisdom of allowing them to wander the beach without either he or Jay to defend their virtue. They weren't terribly far away, though, and his father had sent two bodyguards to keep watch over them all. Which also meant that it wasn't really necessary for them to be guarding the bags, but saying so would have ruined their fun, which would be ungentlemanly. Which he would never be if he could avoid it.

Which meant he was sitting on a towel next to Jay, soaking up the glorious Brazilian sunshine. And possibly enjoying the equally glorious view. There was no denying that Brazil bred some very very pretty people. Though he'd be happier if he didn't have to keep glaring at people who seemed intent on approaching to try and touch Jay's wings.

"What better place to be than Ipanema in the sunshine?" He leaned into Jay and nudged him with his shoulder, warm and familiar.

	He shook his head. "Ain't good t' stand jus' yet, Ah don't think." He pulled his wings in and they tucked up against his back snuggly. For once settling properly in the curve of his lower back. 'Berto watched him suspiciously for a long moment, not entirely sure he shouldn't get someone to come help if Jay couldn't get up and walk under his own power. Finally he sprawled on his belly next to Jay, one hand settling at the arch of the nearest wing while he rested his head on the other arm, face turned towards him.

"All right. But you will keep speaking to me, and if you feel any worse, or look any worse, I am calling for help and we will take you home," he informed him emphatically.

'Berto yawned and sank his fingers contentedly into feathers before turning his head just enough to look down the beach for the girls.

"If you are truly not going to need to be returned to the house due to illness or heat stroke or whatever has been the issue, what do you think the girls will wish to do next?" 'Berto asked, turning back to Jay once he'd spotted them safe and not far away.

"Mmm, sim," 'Berto agreed lazily. "We shall do that." But for now hopefully they'd be content on the beach a while longer. He was enjoying the feel of heat radiating up from the sand beneath him while he basked in the sun, letting the warmth and energy soak into him all the way to the bone. "I do not think I have been truly warm since my last trip home," he murmured, stroking idly along Jay's wing.

	"Thank you for the reminder, meu amigo," 'Berto murmured, letting go of Jay's wing to rap him gently upside the head with a knuckle.
