Backdated To Friday Afternoon (3/25)
Noah had been waiting for this moment since his Father had enrolled him in Xavier's. Joining S.H.I.E.L.D. had become his life's goal after the death of his mother. To be an agent and provide the momentum for significant change in the world was something that had followed her passing. If he could help others never have to know what it was like to lose someone through such horrific tragedy, he would have accomplished what he'd set out to achieve. Realistically, Noah was aware that not everyone could be saved, that not all confrontations were easy, and that being an agent still meant he was held accountable to certain allegiances. However, S.H.I.E.L.D had the longest reach of any other global organization. They were present in most countries, and they had the most options available.
He'd done his part. He'd studied hard, he'd trained harder, he'd even become a United States citizen. He'd survived to see eighteen. Everything about his future now rested in the hands of Captain Steve Rogers.
When an agent had taken him aside after his training session with Vic, Noah had felt - for the first time - his heart race. He almost couldn't breathe. He managed to maintain his composure, likely no one even noticed. At the summons to the Director's office, he'd nodded, thanked the agent and promised to make his way over.
He'd taken the fast way back. Showered, dressed in his training uniform and headed for the office. He wasn't the only one waiting. The secretary calling names alphabetically, regardless of when one had arrived. It was something Noah had gotten accustomed to, however. With a last name as low in the alphabetical order as his, he'd learned patience. And managed to thankfully keep his knee from bouncing in a blur while one after the other were called in.
When it was his turn, he nodded at the secretary then entered the room. Standing tall, and closing the door, he addressed the man behind the expansive desk that probably intimidated anyone who hadn't grown up with a parent in a high ranking military position. "You wished to see me, sir?"
