Chase - Before the fashion show
Anna realized, as she changed quickly from her uniform into jeans and a tank top, that she had no idea what the guy she'd just agreed to go pie shopping with looked like. She was pretty sure it wouldn't be all that hard to figure out who he was, though, and she pulled on a hoodie and zipped it, then let Ali know that she'd be back before the fun started, grabbed her keys and wallet, snagged her leather jacket and headed out. Keys dangling from her mouth by the keychain, she pulled her jacket on and adjusted her gloves before hopping over the railing to the stairwell and landing softly on the first floor.

He was one of the new kids, which would make him stand out. Hopefully. And if not, he'd probably find her.

Chase figured Anna would be downstairs waiting for his slow ass, really. Since he had to find pants and all. Once he'd gotten his jeans on, he pulled on an LA Raiders hoodie, grabbed his wallet and keys and headed out to go get pie with a chick he'd never met. Which sounded awesome and dirty at the same.

Which just made it awesome in general.

He had just opened the door when a hot chick in a leather jacket nearly landed on him. He dodged as best he could. If she was coming down as he was leaving...

"Anna?" he hazarded.

"Security and the administration tolerate a lot of crap... but I feel like they would frown on too much dirty in the hallways." Nodding, she added, "And as one of the people who would end up with extra punishment for it, I'm good with playing it safe in public spaces."

"Just the standards," she shook her head. "Apple, peach, pumpkin. Most of them will be good with anything as long as they get something."

	Chase heh'd about the security cameras. Now he wanted to figure out where they were and give the guys in security a good laugh with more shenanigans. 	"To some degree." Anna shrugged. It wasn't like they were being studied. It was just standard security measures. "On the outside, it's a Nissan. On the inside, it's about twelve different things." They better not be. Although Chase wouldn't be surprised if they were. But that was just his fucked up childhood making him paranoid. "Fun."

Her SUV was much more interesting. He stalked around to the passenger side. "Should I ask you, or her?" he mused aloud, smirking over the top at Anna. He could actually ask her car what little additions it had. But he'd rather hear it from Anna. It was much sexier to hear a woman talk about anything period. Especially machines.

Anna raised an eyebrow at the question. Apparently her car was a girl, and Stein could talk to it. Her. Whatever.

"I took out the standard engine and replaced it it with a V8 that I modified from a BMW X6M," she started, climbing into the driver's seat. "Installed a more responsive drive shaft and braking system, did some minor stuff here and there to pretty it up under the hood..." She shrugged. "There's still a lot I can do with it, but even as it is now, it kicks the asses of every other Nissan Rogue on the road."

	Anna closed her door and stuck the key in the ignition, watching Chase from the corner of her eye. "Technopath?" she guessed, turning the car on and buckling her seatbelt. "Yeah, I guess that would be helpful." At least if they were just fixing things. When it came to building something from the ground up, unless you could ask it what it needed next, it probably wasn't as useful. She gestured toward the heating controls. He was from LA, if she remembered correctly, which meant that there was a chance that he was not used to the weather, even though it wasn't that chilly anymore. "If it's too cold, you can mess with it."

	No, but that would take all the fun out of it. At least for Chase. He liked the challenge of trying to put something together, then working through the kinks. 	Anna nodded, glad that he'd decided it was warm enough. If he'd turned the heat up much more, she probably would have had to crack a window. Once he was out of the way, she nodded and pulled her gloves off. It would be easier to get a good grip on the chassis without the gloves. She used her foot to tip the car carefully up onto the wheels on Chase's side, making sure that she didn't tip it to the point where it would just fall on him, and then moved beneath it, stretching to hold on to the chassis, making sure that she was only holding on to things that could actually support the car's weight. She straightened out, pushing it up over her head, and turned both her body and the car to face Chase. "Piece of cake."

	"It is pretty awesome," she agreed, nodding. She straightened the car out again and carefully took a knee, easing the car back down onto the road. Once she'd carefully placed it back where she had pulled it over, she opened the door again and slipped in, closing the door and then starting to tug her gloves back on. "So there's that." Chase nodded. "Makes sense," he admitted. "My parents sent me to fancy boarding schools before I manifested. Or well, before they knew I manifested. Then I didn't even have to tell them to send me to Xavier's. They had the tuition paid for before I woke up the next morning." Of course, that had been his intention for revealing his powers. To get the hell away from them.

When you chose that place yourself, it was different. Chase had a 'place' with his parents, if he wanted to go back to what he'd grown up dealing with. Which he didn't. He was done being his dad's punching bag and his mother's shield. They could domestically abuse each other for the rest of eternity for all he cared. It wasn't like they wanted any more kids after him, so there was nobody else for them to abuse.

"That's cool though," he said. "Not everybody needs or wants the same thing. What's important is you got what you want and/or need." He let out a chuckle and shook his head. "This conversation is way too deep for a pie run."
