Wicked
Anna had a surprisingly small amount of work to do that weekend. She'd finished all of her actual homework on Saturday, and aside from some studying, she didn't have a whole lot else to do before class on Monday. She had been close to going to look for someone to bug, probably Piotr or Clint, but then she'd spotted a hello type post from a new kid and decided to introduce herself. The girl was in high school, but Anna really didn't have anything better to do, so she'd decided to go meet her. Her powers were definitely something that Anna wanted to check out, partially because of a morbid curiosity about how they worked.

They were supposedly ghosts, and even though Anna wasn't really sure she believed in anything like that, she knew for a fact that certain parts of people could be present even when people themselves weren't physically there. It was possible. She stood outside of Pierce hall, ignoring the majority of the students who passed her but keeping an eye out for someone she didn't recognize. It was a huge campus, and there were a ton of kids she didn't know, but hopefully the girl who called herself Wicked would find her instead of making resort to talking to random children.

Anna cringed slightly. She had definitely done something wrong. She'd almost killed two other students. She'd almost drained them enough that they would have had nothing left. Of course, she'd had the ID bracelet before that too. "Well... nothing on purpose."

"Okay." Anna nodded. She wasn't really sure what she'd expected, though a part of her had definitely hoped that Wicked would be able to actively communicate with people who had passed. She had a few questions for her mother that still hadn't been answered... though knowing her mother, she'd probably find the answers someday, hidden away in something in her room.

Anna didn't have a whole lot else she really felt needed to be asked just then, but it seemed rude and abrupt to just leave, so she decided to change the subject. "So... you got in last night?"

Wicked felt bad. She hadn't meant to imply that at all. Accidents happened after all. That was one of the reasons she'd warned people publicly about her ghosts. She'd end up in the infirmary if somebody tried to ghostbust one of them out of shock. It wouldn't have been on purpose, but it would have sucked.

Better to just move on to answering Anna Marie's questions. She sort of wished she could talk to them, but then that would open up a lot more creepiness for other people to be upset about. Especially if the ghost turned out to be someone they knew and loved.

"Yeah," Wicked agreed. "Super late. My flight got laid over in San Francisco because of a thunderstorm. Long flight from Honolulu."

"You're from Hawaii?" That explained the layers. Anna nodded, smiling. "That's a pretty big time jump. Weather, too."

"Have you had the tour yet?" Anna wasn't entirely sure how they handled new students that came in mid-semester, but she was pretty sure that all of the official tour guides had Sundays off, so there was a good chance that Wicked hadn't seen much of anything yet.

Wicked nodded. "My last foster home was in Honolulu," she told her. "And it is. Although I'm just kind of sad I showed up too close to spring to learn to snowboard this year."

She shook her head. "No, they sort of took pity on me and took me straight to my room," she told her. "So I pretty much haven't seen anything."

"There's a kid here who would probably jump at the chance to teach you how to snowboard, even in the middle of the summer," she replied. "He can make snow."

"Well..." she glanced at her watch. Yep. Tons of time. "Want one?"

"That'd be awesome!" Wicked exclaimed. "I'll have to hunt him down later. Because I totally want to learn."

She smiled at the offer. "Yes," she agreed happily. "That's really nice of you."

"Bobby Drake." She nodded. "He lives in your building."

"Not a problem. I probably know the place better than their tour guides do, anyway." She started walking toward the student center. "So that's Pierce," she pointed over her shoulder, then glanced at the obvious next building to visit. "Do you want the whole history behind the names too? Or just basic stuff? Or something in-between?"

"Bobby Drake," she repeated. "Cool, I'll look him up."

Wicked smiled even wider as she followed Anna Marie. Better than the tour guides. "Whichever you have time for," she said, dismissing the two ghosts that were trailing behind them. "I'm sure the history behind them is cool, and I have tons of time."

"I have all kinds of time," she nodded. "We don't have training today, which leaves me with so much free time." She could do some history, then. Pointing toward the student center, she squinted slightly. "That's the Darkhölme Student Activities Center. We're heading there first."

"Training?" she asked. She knew people trained in their powers at school, but it was Sunday. Nobody had classes on Sunday, did they?

Darkholme Student Activities Center. "As in Raven Darkholme?" she asked. That named she recognized, because of the powered rights' movement she'd researched when she first got her powers.

"Yeah. I'm a cadet with SHIELD, hence the," Anna gestured at her uniform. "It's sort of like ROTC on steroids."

"Yep," Anna nodded, smiling just a little bit. It was a big joke, that the place was named after her mother. Mutti had left a big chunk of money to the school when she died, but had left it such that they would only be able to use it if they put it all toward the student center and then named it after Raven... which, Anna realized, was only really funny if you actually knew her mother. "She's stationed up at the SHIELD base up the hill, so you'll probably see her around sometimes."

"Oh yeah," Wicked said with a blush. "Duh. I forgot about that. What's it like?"

"Really?" Yeah, she was impressed. "I hope I do. She's always seemed totally awesome from everything I've read about her."

"It's a lot of work, but I love it." It helped that it kept her busy enough that she didn't have as much time to sit around and worry about herself or her powers. Plus... she liked having pressure put on her. It kept her moving.

"She's... she's pretty awesome, yeah." The conversation having taken that particular turn, it seemed pretty rude to not be completely honest, and Anna glanced over at Wicked and added, "She's also my mother."

"Hey, if it works for you," she told her. Wicked wasn't certain she could deal with that kind of strict regimen. She liked her free time and wasn't all that military minded.

Wait..Raven Darkholme was her mom? Wicked laughed and shook her head. "That's pretty cool," she admitted. "Is that why you've been here so long?"

Anna shrugged. It did work for her. It helped that she wasn't by any means the first in her family to go into SHIELD.

"Yeah," she nodded. "They started me here when I was old enough to be in school. My brother went here too... and now he teaches here. You might have him for class, maybe. He looks a lot more like momma than I do"

Wicked nodded. "That's cool," she said, which was repeating herself, but so far everything Anna had told her was really...cool. "I've never been to a powered school before. I hid my powers, because I was afraid people wouldn't accept them." Yeah, the world was a lot more progressive, but people were justifiably weird when it came to ghosts and dead relatives and she hadn't lived in a very progressive part of Hawaii either.

"Not everyone here is powered," Anna pointed out. "There's a lot of students who aren't. But yeah... it's one of those places where someone comes in thinking they've got the weirdest thing ever, and everyone just accepts it."

"Which is nice," she nodded, pulling the door to the student center open and gesturing for Wicked to head in. She pointed at a small display on the wall and offered, "If you felt like reading the bullet points of Raven Darkhölme's life..."

"That'd be so awesome..." Wicked admitted. "Having people just accept it. I had trouble just accepting it at first. Because it's so...random."

Wicked headed into the center with a thanks, since Anna was nice enough to open the door for her. "I can read it some other time. Where's your favorite place in here?"

"People are still going to be really curious about it, but that's probably not surprising."

When Wicked decided against reading the display, Anna smiled. Had the girl actually decided that she wanted to read it, Anna was planning on finding an excuse so that they didn't have to stand there in front of it. It wasn't something she was fond of doing.

"My favorite place in here is a place that you can't go... but there are other cool places. There's screening rooms in the back there, and they show movies pretty much every night. The bookstore, TV station, residence life... they're all over there. Upstairs there's a couple of lounges and a food court, plus all of the offices for the different activities."

"Really curious would be kind of awesome," she admitted. "That is totally not the reaction I was expecting at all. Which is also kind of awesome."

Wicked nodded as Anna explained the layout some. "What kind of movies?" she asked. Probably just random general ones, but it was worth asking. Maybe they were student produced or something.

"It depends. There's a list outside the rooms, and they take suggestions. Sometimes it's first runs, sometimes it's old movies, sometimes it's random little things. I think they had a Full House marathon last year." They did a pretty good job of keeping it a nice random selection.

"There's also big TVs in the lounges if you just want to have your own screening of something. And in the dorms."
