Piotr - Monday afternoon/evening
Anna turned onto her mother's street, doing a quick search for street parking. Not surprisingly, there was none. It was still relatively early on a Monday, and there were as many cars parked in the area because their owners were at work as there were people who lived nearby. She and Piotr had skipped out on their regular Monday gym time to head into the city so she could pick up something she'd ordered before her mother had a chance to decide she needed to open it.

"I'm pretty sure my mom's out of town." She pulled up to the garage door and glanced over at Piotr. "Not that it would be bad if she wasn't, but just as a general note." Shrugging, she pulled into the garage and into an empty space.

She nodded at the package again, then pretended that she cared about whatever the letter in her hand was. Really, she was watching him as he opened it. His reaction to it was something that she was pretty sure she needed to pay attention to.

"I guess that depends on what you think it is," she replied, trying to figure out if his reaction was positive or negative or just confused.

Really, he should have been expecting that question. He grinned a bit, shaking his head at himself, and then forced the grin away. It wasn't like he knew why she'd gotten this, it could just be a coincidence. It didn't necessarily mean she wanted to continue last week's activities some times.

"I, um," he started, then shrugged and decided to go for it. "So does this mean you wouldn't be opposed to some more testing?"

When he grinned, she did too, glad that he found it amusing, at the very least. Tilting her head, she waited to see if he was going to announce out loud what he thought it was. His question was good enough, though, and she shrugged, reaching out so he could hand her the suit. "I do need to try it on and make sure it works... and it would be nice to actually get to finish... testing."

	He handed it to her, holding on for just a second longer than he probably really needed to. "It would be very nice," he agreed, letting the suit go. Very, very nice, and he was definitely glad he seemed to have interpreted it correctly. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Raven hadn't expected to be heading overseas again so soon after her last assignment, but sometimes things just happened and needed to be taken care of. Officially, she was still at a S.H.I.E.L.D. base in Utah, where she was overseeing some new training procedures. In reality, though, she'd arrived back in New York earlier that morning and was to be leaving for Europe in about an hour. First, though, she needed to stop in at home to collect some necessary items, such as one of her fake passports. Raven had been moderately surprised to see Anna's car when she pulled into the garage, and when she got up to the apartment, she was able to immediately follow the sound of voices – one unmistakably Anna's, to the kitchen. She leaned silently in the doorway, observing for a moment as Anna went for the glasses. She recognized the man immediately as one of the other Cadets and cleared her throat, making her presence known. “Good afternoon.”

Piotr laughed. "Thanks for that, Annie. Definitely what I want to be thinking about," he told her, but his tone ended up being much more affectionate than irritated.

And then he heard someone clear their throat behind him, followed by a greeting. And he definitely recognized that voice. He straightened instinctively - though it wasn't like leaning against her counters and flirting with her daughter was automatically incriminating, or anything, really - and turned to face her, smiling a greeting as he said politely, "Hello, Agent Darkholme."

Anna grinned, opening her mouth to shoot something back at Piotr, but was interrupted by someone clearing their throat in the doorway. Someone who was supposed to be out of town. She sat the glasses down and hoped that her mother hadn't yet noticed the suit that was still very much in plain sight... though if she did and if she realized why it was there, maybe she'd leave. Anna turned, biting back a smile as Piotr slipped at least partway into military mode.

"Tag, mutter." she waved, not bothering to be nearly as formal as she would have had to be were they on campus. It was looking like testing wasn't about to happen any time soon, and she moved to the sink anyway, glancing up at her mother and offering, "Möchten Sie ein glas Wasser?"

Hopefully she wasn't thirsty. Not that Anna didn't want to see her mother, but there really were much better times. Nodding in Piotr's direction, she switched to English and added, "You remember Piotr, right?"

Raven raised an eyebrow as the boy straightened quickly and greeted her in a very polite manner. She bowed her head in response, turning it slightly as Anna greeted her as well and offered her a glass of water. Shaking her head, she replied, "Danke."

A brief flash of what appeared to be relief flashed over Anna's face, and Raven noted it, taking a moment to glance at a rather peculiar looking item on the counter top, movement hidden thanks to her lack of pupils. Though she was sure there were many other possible uses for crotchless full body suits, one very specific use was coming to mind, and Raven couldn't help but be mildly amused. As Anna made the introductions, Raven brought her attention back to the boy. She stepped into the kitchen and nodded at him. "Rasputin. Of course."

She didn't have a whole lot of time before she had to head out again, but she did have enough time to at least enjoy the situation a bit. Pretending she still hadn't spotted the suit and jumped to her own conclusions, she asked casually, "What brings you to the city?"

Piotr'd been hoping Anna would take over the conversation. He'd also been hoping it would be in English, but then, as long as he wasn't on his own there, that was good enough for him. He could vaguely understand the question, anyway.

When Anna mentioned him, and Agent Darkholme did remember him, Piotr smiled again. "Nice to see you again," he told her, which was mostly honest. It was nice to see her, just maybe not right at that particular time.

He wasn't entirely sure the question was meant for him, but it didn't seem to be addressed specifically to Anna. And it didn't feel right, not answering one of her questions, so he said, "We were planning on getting dinner. My family has a restaurant in Brooklyn."

She pushed Piotr's glass of water toward him, purposefully ignoring the suit on the counter. Maybe her mother wouldn't notice it if she didn't make a big deal about it. Raven, of course, remembered Piotr's last name, and greeted him before making casual conversation. Anna nodded at Piotr's response, taking a sip of her water before adding, "And I figured that while we were here, might as well pick up my mail."

It wasn't a lie, even if it wasn't completely true. Anna leaned against the counter, careful to keep her body language as neutral as possible and hoping that Raven wasn't going to pick up on how forced it was. Raven wasn't supposed to be there, and Anna raised an eyebrow, wondering why it was that she had appeared back in New York in the middle of what was supposed to be a solid week away. "I thought you were in Utah?"

"Likewise," Raven nodded at the boy. It was certainly unexpected to see him, but it wasn't bad. Unless, of course, they were actually skipping duties at school to be there. It seemed unlikely, though, and she smiled at their explanations for why they were there. Still not acknowledging the item specifically, she smiled and asked, "Anything interesting?"

"I am in Utah," she replied, voice taking on a more authoritative edge. Raven hadn't counted on running in to anyone in the apartment, and had made the entire trip home as someone else to avoid being seen where she wasn't supposed to be, but at least both of the people she did run into were in some way affiliated with S.H.I.E.L.D. and therefore unlikely to go telling everyone she wasn't where she was supposed to be. She smiled again as she added, "I'm heading back in less than an hour. I just had to pick some things up."

That question definitely wasn't for him. Or at least, he really, really, really didn't want to answer it, so he was going to go with it being directed at Anna. He picked up the glass of water Anna had pushed in his direction with a smile of thanks, then sipped at it.

Ah. So it was that kind of out of town trip, then. Piotr nodded, still a somewhat instinctive response to respond to the authoritative voice, though he wasn't about to assure her that he wouldn't tell anyone he'd seen her. That was just a given.

"Not really," Anna shook her head, knowing as soon as she did it that her mother would pick up on how big of a lie that was. Hell, she'd probably already seen the suit and decided what it was for and was just playing dumb. There wasn't much that Raven didn't pick up on. "I got a free subscription to People Magazine... but I don't think I'm going to sign up."

When her mother insisted that she was actually in Utah right then, Anna glanced quickly at Piotr, who nodded like a good little soldier boy. One of the amazing things about her mother had always been her ability to appear to be in two places at once. She took a sip of water and smiled. "Well, don't let us make you late or anything."

"Don't," Raven agreed, not buying the story for even a second. "It's garbage anyway."

Both of the cadets seemed to understand her statement completely, and she nodded slightly in response. For all they knew, she was actually heading back to Utah. Officially, she hadn't yet left. They both knew better than to say otherwise to anyone. She matched her daughter's smile exactly, raising an eyebrow at the somewhat obvious suggestion that she leave. Though she would have loved nothing more than to stick around and get in the way, she did have a short time frame to work with.

"Danke," she nodded at Anna, turning to Piotr and offering a hand. "Mr. Rasputin, a pleasure. I'll see you around campus." Not releasing Piotr's hand just yet, she looked over his shoulder to remind Anna in as obnoxious and motherly a voice as she could stand, "Don't stay out too late. You have class in the morning."

Giving Piotr another smile, she released his hand and headed out to go collect her things from the study.

Piotr was trying really hard not to think about whether Agent Darkholme had noticed the suit. Or knew what it was for. Or had figured out what they had been planning on doing before she'd gotten there.

He sipped his water as Anna and her mother talked, still definitely not thinking about it. Though he had to admit feeling some relief when Anna hinted that her mother should be leaving, and Agent Darkholme agreed, seemingly without knowing what they'd been up to.

Piotr shook her hand when it was offered, firm and professional. "A pleasure as well, Agent Darkholme." And then his relief faded a bit when she didn't let go, and instead looked over at Anna to tell her not to stay out too late.

He didn't react outwardly, and smiled politely back when Agent Darkholme smiled at him before letting his hand go, but he was definitely wincing on the inside. Yeah. She definitely knew.

Anna was a little bit surprised that her mother was going so easily. She actually thanked her - okay, sort of sarcastically, but she was saying her goodbyes and then... yep, there it was. Of course she'd seen it, of course she knew what was happening, and of course she wasn't going to just walk out of there and let them think that she didn't know.

As Raven headed out, Anna just sort of stared at her, waiting until Raven had turned the corner and she could hear her footsteps on the stairs to sigh. Moving to the freezer to get some ice (since it looked like she was going to probably have plenty of time to actually enjoy her water), she stage-whispered, "Raven Darkhölme, ladies and gentlemen."

"Want some ice?" She looked over her shoulder at Piotr, deciding not to breach the whole topic of how utterly destroyed the beginning of something worth calling an actual mood was.

Anna definitely wasn't alone in staring after Agent Darkholme when she left. They'd almost made it through without her figuring it out - all right, no, they hadn't, but they'd almost made it through with Piotr being able to convince himself that she hadn't figured it out.

He quirked his lips upwards in an almost-grin at Anna's stage whisper. "She does have quite the presence," he commented, then nodded. "Yeah, ice would be good."

Might as well, since the arrival of Anna's mother, who happened to be a very high ranking SHIELD agent and definitely knew what the suit was and what they'd been planning on doing with it had pretty much stalled any kind of those plans.

"That's an understatement," Anna smiled, shaking her head. It probably wasn't a great idea to encourage Piotr to talk about her mother, especially when Raven outranked them both and was still in the apartment, but she felt as though it was something that had to be noted. She dropped some ice cubes into her glass, then scooped up a few more, hoping he wouldn't mind that she was touching them, and headed back over toward him to slip them into his.

"So." Anna leaned against the counter, frowning. "I think we've got board games somewhere around here." It had been nice before, when she had a pretty clear idea of how they were going to fill time before dinner. Thanks to her mother's sudden appearance, though, it was feeling a whole lot like that option was off the table. "Or there's always television."

He smiled back, though he didn't say anything further on the subject. "Thanks," he said when she dropped the ice cubes into his glass, tipping it back to take another drink.

Piotr chuckled a bit at her board game suggestion. "I used to play board games all the time," he told her. "Illyana loved them." And if she was suggesting board games or television, it likely meant that Agent Darkholme's arrival had killed whatever mood there had been for her as well, too. "Television works. Or we could just grab an early dinner." He grinned a bit. "If you're still good with braving my mother."

Smiling as he brought up his sister, she briefly considered mentioning that there was a good chance that they didn't actually have any board games. He picked option number two, though, and added in a third possibility as well, and she laughed.

"I'm still good with it." She sipped her water and admitted, "Not really hungry yet, though." Sure, it would take them some time to get over there... but not much time, considering the fact that they were pretty close to Brooklyn already, but that probably wasn't enough time for her to actually be hungry enough for dinner. She glanced in the general direction of the stairs as Raven descended, not bothering to stop back into the kitchen and heading straight out the door.

Anna barely resisted the urge to call out a quick thank you for all that she'd done, and instead headed out of the kitchen, scooping the suit up under her arm and gesturing for Piotr to follow. He'd already had a tour of the place, but generally when she had people from school over, she made sure there were certain places they didn't go. "I don't think you've ever seen the view from the roof, have you?"
