It seemed the little Auror was capable of saying absolutely nothing with quite a few words. The skill was as unhelpful as it was exceptionally boring. As this Amarissa Cross was speaking, she couldn't help but reflect on the oddity of a Spanish Auror with such a last name. By her accent, surely she'd been raised in Spain. That, however, made no assurances about her parents.
"And you have family here, yes?" she asked, keeping her tone pleasant enough. This was the sort of things women talked about, after all.
Perhaps this girl was tied to the Yaxley family one way or another. The surname Cross snagged no snatches of her memory, and she'd been schooled extensively in her own bloodline. Bloodlines so old had tendrils that curled into nearly other family of note. Ugh. Unless she was of... muggle origins. Her sense of displeasure was hidden from her expression. Nothing good could come from a muggle-born offshoot poking around. Always looking for trouble, the lot of them.
If an Auror had had an inquiry with Kastra or her home, surely they'd have mentioned it by now, so why hadn't she? It sat very poorly indeed. The request for information had just been made, surely she hadn't forgotten. Inept though the may be, most Auror weren't stupid.
