The case clicked sharply when her quick fingers pressed it closed. What a strange thing to say about cigarettes. Kastra, however, didn't press the matter as she returned the case to her pocket.
"Please tell me Spain isn't thinking about adopting a similar sort of recklessness," she replied, barely concealing her desire to roll her eyes. "One would think the trouble we've been having with the whole mess would serve as quite the deterrent. It would really be a pity if the same sort of... violent reaction would have to trouble the continent as well."
Merlin, if this integration nonsense was spreading she'd have to begin expanding. The mere idea posed a number of challenges, but she supposed it could be managed. She really didn't want to have to involve Draco in this side of things. From what she'd gathered of him it would be much easier if he could just react to the stage she was setting for him.
It occurred to her that someone might be speaking to a contact in Spain, someone who knew the legal strings Kastra was pulling to stall integration. If that was the case, she'd have to find out who. Thus far it seemed as though everyone was all too anxious to keep her activities quiet, or to claim her political movements as their own. This wasn't to say that she would ignore a call for help from a country inching closer to abomination, but if someone from the Spanish Ministry was interested in getting in contact with her surely there were better ways than this.
