"It's not actually..." Alex shook his head. "If it needs draining, usually you soak the wound in a disinfectant solution; although salt water can work as a substitute; to soften the skin at the wound's edges, usually the water is as hot as the patient can tolerate. Then you pry open the wound and clean it out with swabs and gauze.." He explained, shrugging as he did.
He pressed his lips together, brow furrowing in thought. "I won't stitch the wound just yet. Make sure the slight infection clears first...if it doesn't and it ends up needing draining than the sutures will have to be taken out anyway." He muttered, seemingly more to himself than Sally, as he moved back over - a roll of fresh dressing in his hand.
