Alex rubbed a hand through his hair, ruffling it and making it stick up in all different directions. He glanced up, watching her start to walk away before opening his mouth to speak again. "It still would've gotten out." He murmured. "I mean, the animal activists would've found some other means of finance." He added, his hand going to his throat briefly and gave a slight wince. He hadn't spoken this much for a while and it was starting to make his throat hurt.
He gave a small shake of his head, unsure why he was trying to reassure her. He could have told her the truth but despite her words, he didn't fancy being lynched again.
