Hades had been somewhat shocked that Persephone had even so much as reached out to him before the Winter officially hit. Sure, the air was getting crisp and some places in the world were already covered in snow, but it was not yet his time. His time with her was drawing close, and he could be patient. Though the closer to the Solstice it got, the more antsy he became.
She'd not only reached out, but had also invited him to dinner. Well, lunch. He didn't turn it down. He couldn't. They had briefly discussed stating over. Trying things again. Doing an actual courtship. And he was more than willing to give this a chance. To make things.... better between them. It couldn't hurt, right? He didn't think so. Maybe it would make them closer. That was his hope for things, at least.
He hadn't intended on being late, but he was no longer hiding who he was, so as the King of the Underworld stepped out of the car, he was almost immediately set upon by somebody that knew of him. Somebody who wanted to pay for passage for a loved one that was lost to them and they wanted to make sure everything was in order. It took longer than he'd hoped, and ten minutes past the time he was supposed to be at the tea room.
He didn't even need to see her to know where she was and he slid into the chair opposite her. "I am so sorry for being late."
