On Wednesdays we wear pink

So here's what Erha is:
She used to live with her mother, brother, and drunk, abusive, pirate affiliated father. One day, Erha's mother, Eritara (just made that up right now) spots the ship of Erha's waste of a father's pirate associates. She goes to confront her husband and send the ship away. He tells her to fuck off. He hits her and because Eritara is a badass she hits back. They start to fight viciously. Erha tries to shield her brother but the fighting is getting very intense. Eventually, Erha's father kills Eritara in front of her children. Erha, who is but a child at this point, grabs a knife, approaches her exhausted, crazed father, and opens his throat. She flees with her brother moments before the pirates dock at their cottage.
The siblings spend several years on the street. There Erha meets Kinboro. The three scrap by for several years before Erha and her brother are abducted, separated, and sold. Erha is sent to the fighting pits, alone. She is at first forced to fight other young girls for the amusement of the bloodthirsty citizens of a distant, ruthless civilization. Erha, with her hardened spirit and ability to adapt fights her way into adult hood. Eventually, she spots an opportunity to flee, around 29 years old, and does so. The Lords of the fighting pit are of course furious as Erha became a popular attraction and thus drew pounds of money. Erha flees as far and fast as she can, eventually landing on a small island outside the capital city of the world we are in. The wealth she managed to gather from her time in the pits is used to build a small manse were she hopes to live out her life in quiet isolation. But we all know how that goes.

Name: Kinborough (Kin) Quick (though let's be real, she probably spells it Kinboro if she spells it at all because silent letters + she's probably not great at reading)

Age: Technically unknown; approximately 18

Race: Halfling

Class: Rogue (Thief)

What about your character is heroic? On the surface, not much. Kin is untrusting and untrustworthy at first glance. She's a survivor, her mindset more like a wild animal's than a person's most of the time. She's skittish, she's quick to run and hide, fight from cover, or stab you in the back. However, Kin has a strong sense of family -- not family by blood, but family by choice. Blood relations don't mean anything to her, since she never had any, but as she was adopted by Erha and taken in, she's spent her adolescence looking after young street rats who are "hers." Once she counts you as family, she can be an incredibly loyal companion, the first to look out for a friend (or get in a fight just to stick it to someone who treated you badly). She has a strong sense of justice when it comes to class inequity, and in time could become something of a Robin Hood figure.

What about your character is social? What do they like about people? Depends on the people. Kin hates people born with wealth, people who have never known what it is to starve, people who think they can order others around, and getting on her good side is next to impossible. She likes people who are resourceful, sharp, and clever, and has respect for people who have come up from nothing -- as long as they don't forget where they came from. She likes children. She's more of a big sister than a mother hen, and thanks to her small stature, children have an easy time relating to her and don't view her as an authority figure to fear or resent. It takes a little while to get her to warm up to people who are older and bigger than she is; she can be standoffish and suspicious.

Of what benefit would they be to the current group? Kin is stealthy, quiet, and quick (hence her name). Nimble and agile, she can maneuver her way around obstacles and enemies with ease. She picks locks, picks pockets, and can lie like nobody's business. She doesn't feel bad about breaking rules or breaking the law, doesn't feel guilt over robbing loot from dead bodies (because really, who's gonna use it). She's exceptionally good with a shortbow, preferring to fight unseen from a distance. She fights dirty. Unlike Erha, she absolutely fears death, but instead of being a detriment to her character it's a driving force behind her ferocity.

What would choose them to join the current group? Kin's got a sense of adventure. She's lived in the same small section of the same city all her life, never seeing much beyond it, and she desperately wants to explore. Feeling guilty over abandoning the younger members of her street gang, she's determined to bring home riches for them.

Do they have a driving quest other than "tagging along" or "adventuring"? STUFF AND THINGS. No, really, Kin feels like she can't go home if she doesn't have something to show for it. Leaving feels like betrayal to her gang, even if they'll survive without her. So yeah, maybe she's in it for the loot.
