Well, he was a good eight years her senior. Which was part of the reason he'd not let his own mind wander that direction too far. Especially with how hard she'd taken her own loss. She was still healing and it would have been improper and insensitive to pursue the idea before she was ready to deal with it.
She was not, by any stretch of the imagination, wasting his time nor his evening. It was obvious bothering her a great deal or she'd not be over here in the night in a state because of a little playful row with her brother. The two had sparred verbally nonstop when they'd visited. Which meant there was at least something there to consider.
He shook his head a bit and chuckled. "Your brother's a bit of a prat. No offense. He might consider winding you up about things that aren't so important. Although it's good to hear he'd getting out as well."
Cathair rubbed the bridge of his nose absently. He didn't want to lecture or correct her, but this was sounding more like a bit of a crush when she kept saying 'like me like that'. They were both adults, they didn't need to dance about the topic like blushing teenagers.
"Honestly, I have no idea," he told her softly. "I haven't allowed myself to think on it. Do I think you're attractive? Most certainly, in every sense of the world. You're beautiful, sweet, caring, clever and wiser than you give yourself credit for." He looked over at her. "I'm not certain if that's what you're looking for here. I enjoy your company, Sadhbh adores you and your family, and I can't argue you've brought me a great deal of comfort in the past week by being lovely and understanding."
