Hey, Xander, you know how you love me?
Who: Mateo and Xander
What: Conversations about favors
When: 10.20.11 - Thursday Afternoon
Where: WWHS Library
Warnings: Discussions of sex
Xander had study hall in the afternoon and about the only good thing about it was that he could catch more sleep and sometimes get in some face time with Mateo. With him spending time with Charlie and working and Mateo spending time with Chloe and working, the guys didn't get a whole lot of bonding time anymore. Not that Xander was really complaining because spending time with Charlie was fucking spectacular. Still, it was nice to see his friend every once in awhile and just get to talk about nothing at all. Shoot the shit.
He plopped himself down to Mateo at one of the tables near the back where they could talk without having to deal with the librarian cussing them out for being too loud. "Hey," he said, dropping his bag beside him and sifting through it for his English book to finish up his homework so he wouldn't have to do it later. "What's up?"
Mateo pulled out paper and a pen, spreading his textbooks out on the table so he at least looked like he was working. They’d done that often enough - and both Mateo and Xander were good enough at the ‘who, me?’ innocent faces that the librarians didn’t normally bother them. He lifted his chin in greeting, a faint smile on his face as Xander sat down. And yeah, it felt like it had been weeks since they’d just sat and talked. Even if it was only a few days. “Eh, not much,” he murmured quietly. “Trying to work out which assignment’s gonna make me wanna kill myself the least. You?” He quirked an eyebrow, looking at the textbook Xander had pulled out. Damn, he’d done his English homework already. He was hoping they’d be working on the same thing.
"Trying to make sure all my homework is done now so I don't have to do it later," he admitted. "I've still gotta read the rest of the chapters for History but that's not going to take long. And I've got some shitty math assignment to do." Yeah, Xander loathed math. He doubted many people actually liked that crap, but it was a needed evil he supposed.
Mateo grimaced, resisting the urge to let his head thunk down on the table. Barely. His knee jiggled under the table, pencil tapping restlessly against the pad, the table. Mateo was wound tight as a spring - the sparring with Jason had helped, but he still hadn’t made up with Darcy, and he couldn’t stop thinking about the other night, how close he’d come to hurting Chloe. To just taking her, right there. And Jesus, he really, really needed to not thinking about that. “Fuck,” he muttered quietly, running a hand through his hair and sighing as he grabbed the nearest textbook, not even reading the front before flicking it open, forcing himself to concentrate on...whatever the hell it was.
Xander arched a brow at Mateo. Sometimes he was wound up but he'd certainly never seen him like that. "Dude, your book is upside down. What the hell is going on with you?" he questioned, reaching over and taking the book, flipping it the right way. "I know that Napoleon isn't interesting, but he's not going to be more entertaining upside down. Spill."
Sighing, Mateo ran his hand through his hair again. “It’s nothing, I just...” Yeah, no, he was really bad at lying. Especially to Xander. “I kind of nearly raped Chloe last night,” he muttered, looking sick to his stomach at the thought of it. “I mean, she was turned on, but...yeah.” He slumped over the table, burying his face in the crook of his arm. “I’m so fucked up,” he said, words muffled by his sleeve. “I had a fight with Darcy, and she made me so fucking angry....” lifting his head, he had to make an effort to keep his voice down, realising the librarian was looking over at them. He sighed. “I went to see her, and...” he licked his lips, not really sure how to explain this to someone who wasn’t a were. “I just...I got worked up. And it gets to a point where..you either have to kill something, or fuck something. And Chloe was right there, so...” he looked meaningfully at Xander, really hoping he didn’t have to spell it out.
Xander blinked and stared at Mateo. "You what?!" he hissed, the words thankfully not coming out too loudly. He tried not to explode into confusion as Mateo began to explain. The explanation really didn't help much. Apparently Charlie hadn't heard about all that yet, but he wasn't going to be the one to tell her. Some things were better left not spoken. "Well you didn't," he said. Hoping that the little bit of truth could just bring him back into the situation where he could help his friend and not want to kill him for nearly doing something stupid to his girlfriend who happened to be his girlfriend's sister.
“Thanks to her dad,” Mateo added, grimacing. Yeah, that had been fun. “I’m fucking lucky he didn’t rip my spine out and beat me to death with my own skull.” Because yeah, it had looked like Jason had wanted to, when he’d first opened the door. “He got it, though. He’s had the same thing happen.” Mateo looked a little bit nauseous again. “He said that’s how he and Justice got together. Only without the stopping and stepping back part.” Which...ew. He didn’t need to know about Jason’s sex life. Ever. At all. “He took me into the garage and sparred with me til I calmed down, and gave me The Talk.” Which was quite possibly the most uncomfortable experience of Mateo’s life to date.
Xander hissed softly. Yeah, getting caught by Jason wasn't something that he ever wanted to experience. Ever. Never ever. Xander shuddered a little, shaking his head. "I don't ever want to have The Talk with Jason, thanks. I'm keeping my cock to myself until further notice. I've become pretty good friends with the shower at this point. Charlie isn't ready for that though." And neither was he if he was being honest. He kept that bit to himself though. "On the bright side, at least you're not living in their house. And on the bright side for me at least I'm not a were because I think I'd have killed myself by now."
“Tell me about it,” Mateo muttered. “Seriously, you think being a teenage guy is bad? Try having were senses, and a girlfriend who’s just as horny as you. And you can smell her. Smell how bad she wants you...” Mateo drew a ragged breath. God, even talking about it made him feel out of control. “Fuck, I need to get laid,” he groaned, banging his head off the table. “Like, now. But my parents would freak out, and there’s no way in hell I’m staying at hers...” He sighed miserably.
And then a lightbulb went on.
“Xaaander, buddy?” He drawled, trying to look innocent. And failing, miserably. “You know how we’re best friends, and you’d do anything for me?”
Xander scrunched his nose up. "Dude, that's fucking gross," he told him. "I don't want you getting all hot and bothered while you're sitting next to me and you're talking about my girlfriend's sister and knowing she's horny while she's near you is kind of weird and gross to think about." He shuddered a little, never wanting to think about Horny Chloe again. Blegh.
But he couldn't really think about that long, thankfully. Unfortunately the new distraction was Mateo asking for a favor quite obviously. "Let me think...," he said before shaking his head a little. "No. Whatever it is, no."
Mateo pouted. And tried puppy dog eyes. “C’mon, Xander, you don’t even know what I’m gonna ask,” he pointed out. “Or the favor I’ll owe you in return.” He clasped his hands together, looking pleadingly at Xander. “All I’m asking, is that I borrow your keys for one night. Andyourhouse.” He shifted closer, almost resting his chin on Xander’s arm. “Seriously, dude, I will do whatever you want, forever. Just let me borrow your place for a night.”
Xander sighed a little. Great. At least he wasn't a were and wouldn't have to really smell the goings on there. "You'd have to buy your own sheets," he told him. "And flip the mattress over afterwards. And if Jason ever finds out about this I swear to god I'll kill you. And then deny that I ever loaned you the keys and say you stole them out of my bag. Got it?"
Mateo nodded enthusiastically. “Absolutely, anything you want. Scout’s honor.” He was practically bouncing. Thank fuck, they had a solution. Somewhere to go where they could be alone, that wasn’t the back of his truck. He didn’t want that to be his first time with Chloe - but equally, he knew they weren’t going to be able to hold out for long. This seemed like a perfect alternative.
"When?" he asked him. "I'll make sure to keep Charlie away from my place on that day. Also, my sister sort of lives there, but she hasn't been around any time I went over so I doubt she'll be a problem. If you're in my room though it really won't matter since she stays in the attic when she's there." He doubted Lilith would be a problem really. She did her own thing, kept to herself and did her creepy magic elsewhere. That was probably what she'd been doing the last few times he'd missed her.
“Uh, I’ll let you know.” Mateo said, chewing his lip. He was working all weekend, but he was tempted to try and set something up for Saturday night...except no, he had plans. Or was supposed to have plans. “Hey, did you get an invite to Mikey’s party?” He asked, quirking an eyebrow. He was never sure what things Xander got invited to, just where on the social ladder he stood. Mikey was one of Mateo’s friends, but he didn’t think he knew Xander so well. The party was a regular thing, just before Halloween, before it got too cold. His house backed onto the river, surrounded by trees - perfect for illicit drinking and misbehavior.
"Yeah," he said nodding a little. "I think he only invited me because you were supposed to go," he shrugged. "I thought about it but I'm not sure. I was going to see what Charlie wanted to do. I have to work til nine-thirty anyways so I figured I'd see if she wanted to make an appearance or just go to a movie or something after I get off work." Charlie had been doing her homework and hanging out at The Zeppo since the murders had started and Lex had been pretty great about letting her hang out there. He'd have to remember to thank the guy again.
Mateo nodded. “Well let me know, dude. We can carpool or something.” He didn’t mind not showing up to the party til later - by the time he got home from work, showered, changed, and headed over to Chloe’s, it’d be about eight anyway. Add in dinner, and they’d be ready to go by the time Xander finished work. He sighed, closing his textbook. Fuck it, maybe he’d nap until their next class. He felt so much better, having a plan in place. Knowing that he didn’t have to keep holding back around Chloe. “Thanks again, Xan,” he murmured.
"Yeah, we can do that," he nodded. "Everyone'll fit in my car," Xander said. "So if you and Chloe wanna meet me at my place after work, I can grab a quick shower and we'll be ready to go to the party. Unless you wanna skip the party for your own little... well... yeah," he smirked, shaking his head a little. "You should be glad that I've got my own place. I was just telling Charlie I might not be able to sell it. Now I've got even more reasons not to because you're going to turn it into your own private 'let's bang Chloe' place," he teased.
Mateo snorted. “Yeah, like you’re not gonna do the same,” he pointed out. “Just as soon as Charlie’s ready, we’re gonna be taking turns.” Not that he minded - having a share in a place to fuck his girlfriend without being interrupted? That was almost as good as having a place of his own.
"Don't have to take turns," he pointed out. "I've got two bedrooms and the attic and I can sound and smell proof stuff, remember?" he smirked. "I somehow have the feeling that you're going to wanna move in there eventually," Xander murmured, shaking his head a little. It wasn't that big a deal, though, not really. And Mateo was right. When Charlie was ready it would be nice to have somewhere to go that wouldn't be easily interrupted.
Mateo hadn’t actually considered that idea. But yeah, if things stayed the way they were, it might be an idea. He certainly didn’t plan on leaving DC any time soon. “Yeah, well, give it time,” he murmured, smiling. “Roomie.” He kicked Xander under the table, ducking his head as the librarian glared at them. Whoops. Tossing Xander a mischievous look, he turned his attention back to his books. Hell, maybe he could actually get some work done, now he had a solution to his little problem. He could only hope...
