Luke normally didn't work Mondays but he did a co-worker a favor and took up his hours. Hey, extra money was good and his family was already driving him nuts. He liked having an excuse like work to quell them away. It was surprisingly slow for a Columbus Day. Luke was actually surprised. So he was pulled off register to go stock some shelves because the stock boy didn't show up. Luke didn't so much care about that. He wasn't feeling really in a customer friendly mood anyway. He had been in nothing but a thoughtful about his identity lately. So far, he knew he was Luke Hwan Park, age 16, male, possessing some special powers, ... maybe gay? He didn't know.
Admittedly, he felt very defensive about the last bit of it, especially when the stock room manager pushed a cart full of ladies' hair dye and make up. "What's that supposed to mean?" Luke said to the man defensively. Did he come off like that? The man pretty much told Luke that he pushed it at random and if he wanted, he could stock furniture kits if he wanted. Those were heavy so Luke declined.
So he went to the make up and haircare section and tried not to get excited when blond hair dye was 50 % off. His roots could use a touch up. Then he scolded himself for getting excited about something like that. There was also pink hair dye too for streaks on sale. It was Tina's birthday today, as his mother reminded him of, before he headed off. He told himself he would pick up a couple before leaving that day.
He decided to work on make up first. He could never figure all this stuff out and he had 4 sisters, one who wore so much make up, Luke was certain she was hiding something hideous underneath, probably her true nature. Making make up look neat was turning out to be a huge challenge. Luke, even though it was stupid make up, was a perfectionist and he wanted it to look good even if he could careless about make up.
