Into The Woods Auditions
Date: 9/14, 6pm - 9pm (so it's after other activities/practices)
Location: McKinley auditorium
Characters: Anyone trying out for the play
Warnings: Likely none
Subject: It's battle of the divas! So to speak.
She waited for the children to file in and take their seats in the audience. She was standing center stage, but the house lights were up. There was a good number of students planning on auditions, some she recognized from New Directions and other who must be only in the Drama club. It was easy to spot the difference, as the two groups were almost segregated.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Shelby Cocoran, and I will be your director." She purposefully refrained from looking at her daughter Rachel, and instead addressed the group as a whole. "Ms. Field suffered a fall last night and shan't be returning this school year. Your principal has asked me to step in to fulfill duties as Director." Considering this matter closed, she went on to outline her audition process.
"I will call you up one by one and you will sing your song, accompanied by the House pianist." She nodded towards the gentleman, Brad she recalled, who looked less than happy to be here. "Then, we will move on to monologues. I will post a list for callbacks tomorrow by lunchtime, along with the roles I am considering you for. Call-backs will be on Monday directly after school. If you are not willing to make the commitment to that time, do not bother auditioning tonight."
She nodded towards the girl who would be acting as Stage manager who had passed around the audition sign-up sheet and scanned the names before calling the first one.
OOC: If you like, rather than a thread just comment with what song & monologue your character did, or even just which part they decided to tryout for.
