Gabrielle nodded a bit. "They are supposed to be, but..." she paused for a second to think of how to phrase that right. "...I guess there's always a few bad apples in every crowd." she tried to explain a bit. Personally, she liked to believe that most people were honest. Even with all of the horrors she had witnessed in her life, she still wanted to believe that people were innately good. How she still could...she wasn't really willing to question it, perhaps it just came with a long life span and being able to see a bigger picture. Sitting here with Parthenope giggling over such silly things made her relax more than the other woman probably knew. She liked seeing this perspective of the world, and the plain fact of the matter was that Parthenope was nice, and a genuinely good person in Ellie's eyes. So why wouldn't she want to spend some down time with her?
A very small shrug came to her shoulders. "It's a mixed bag, much in the same as I think most jobs are." she began. "It's nice to be able to work around things, but then again, it's all on you to do the work and make sure it gets done." she continued. There had been a very specific moment in her life where she had told herself that she would never again live on the backs of other's hard work. Sure, she could actually sit back and live off well thought out investments, but at the same time, she just didn't feel right unless she had some kind of employment.
"Oh good! Then you'll be the perfect person to ask for tips then." Ellie couldn't help but laugh a little more at herself. It was one of the things she had worked on hard over the last fifty or so years, being able to laugh at herself more. "Ooooh, that would make sense. Though, truth be told, I'm not very good at bowling either. I just do it to have fun with people." she admitted. A look of excitement passed over her face as she got excited over the idea that Ellie would get to teach Parthenope all about her little world. "And I would love to show you. It's really not so hard once you get the hang of it, and even if you don't, you'll still end up smelling good for a few days regardless." she paused for a moment. "Some day you'll have to tell me more about under the surface, I'm rather curious."
