"Milady," Daniel murmured, catching Jayati as she flew gently into his arms, "Care to dance?" he asked, offering his arm. Swing dancing wasn't his strong point, but he had actually been married when it was originally in fashion and his wife had liked it, so he had tried. He had learned many things while being married to her, the most important of which was that he wasn't all that suited to marriage.
He had spent most of the evening mingling genially, social, but not staying with any particular person or group for too long. Now though, he was thinking dancing would be good. And it was Jayati. Even with her mask he found her distinctive, though to be fair, he really only recognized those he knew well. His more casual acquaintances, he had no clue about behind their masks.
