Hestia had once again finished a long shift at St. Mungo's. The number of hitwizards in the wards had increased, and that seemed a bit odd to Hestia, but at least the number of patrons within the emergency wards had decreased. That didn't mean that her job was getting any easier. Hestia was probably more tired at the end of her shifts these days than she had ever been. She chose to blame the Ministry for that.
At the beginning of the week Diggle's house was burnt down and completely destroyed, so he'd taken up residence in the safehouse with the Dursley family and Hestia when she was there. It helped her knowing that they could better divide their time spent at the house now, but there was only so much Hestia could tolerate between Petunia Dursley's nagging and Diggle's constant enthusiasm for everything. It made Hestia wish that she had more time to spend with Viktor.
And then there was Viktor. Hestia enjoyed spending time with him, there was something between the two of them that was so natural, and he was so intuitive. He knew that she was stressed, and he could tell that something was eating away at her insides, as well as her emotions, and he'd wanted to talk about it. Hestia had no idea how to react to that, she hadn't quite anticipated him to be so interested in her so quickly. She was unprepared for any man to express such genuine concern for her, but she was glad that it was Viktor who was catching her off guard. She just wasn't sure what she was going to tell him.
For some time to herself, as well as time to intercept tidbits of gossip and information from fellow shoppers, Hestia decided a trip to the grocery was in order. She'd be able to pick up the copy of the latest Prophet and focus her mind on produce and meats, those were uncomplicated. Once she bought the proper ingredients for dinner, Hestia would be able to worry over the latest Ministry news while she prepared dinner at the safehouse. She stepped into the grocery, and she could instantly feel a bit of her stress melt away. The aisles were calling here.
