Date: 10 October 1997
Characters: Roger, Verity,
Location: WWW
Status: Open; Anyone else in the shop feel free to pop in
Summary: Roger goes shopping
Completion: Complete

Roger apparated to Diagon Alley, shortly following that morning's game. He'd managed to make it back to the showers after what was a bloody amazing and successful match against the Arrows, and upon his emergence, had quite deftly avoided the flashing cameras as they tried to grab him or any other members of the team on their way out of the locker room. Normally, Roger wouldn't have bothered heading out shopping, but he had a couple of things to get, and unfortunately for him, none of them, were available at his local shops.

Entering the Alley shortly after he arrived, Roger made his way to various shops. He had a couple of potions ingredients, but the first place he was heading was the Weasley's shop. He'd been meaning to get Mandy and Noah a journal, mostly so he could keep an eye on them both, but also because it would just be considerably faster and safer than owls. With the way things had been going lately, Roger wanted to be absolutely certain that his brother and best friend were safe.Reaching the shop, Roger entered in, and made his way along the shelving, searching for the journals.

It was a slow morning. All Verity had done was restock several of the shelves and make perhaps two sales, and now she was having some tea. Because frankly, she just enjoyed tea.

Grinning as she heard the door open, she waved to the- oh, that was Roger Davies. Unconsciously fluffing her hair (because even though she wasn't interested, it wouldn't do not to look her best in front of someone as pretty as Roger) she gave him her best smile.

"Those are all of our journals right there. Let me know if I can help you with anything."

As he entered the shop and spotted the one of the attendants, Roger smiled. The smile widened as he spotted the familiar face. Granted, Verity was hardly a close friend, but he had seen her often enough at school, and there had been those seven years of occasionally shared classes. As he saw her fluf her hair, Roger did his best not to laugh. It was a reaction he recieved quite often, regardless of what mel and Cho said, and something he rather appreciated.

"Hello, luv. How'd you know I wanted a journal?" Roger asked, raising a brow as he flashed her another smile. He walked in the direction she'd pointed out and picked two up. "I could have intended to see you."

She grinned. "Our journals are some of our biggest sellers. I just assumed, from the direction that you were heading." Verity watched him peruse the selection, propping her chin on her hand and resting her elbow on the counter.

"Oh, you could have? Well, then, I'm flattered even in the hypothetical," she teased.

Roger chuckled and nodded. "I'm sure that's the truth of it. Sure you're not in some way a Seer?" he asked as he approached the counter where Verity was resting. "They do tend to be fit," he added, winking at her. Handing over the books, Roger grinned at her. "You should be flattered."

"Not that I know of," she informed him, chuckling softly. Quickly ringing up his purchase, she flashed him a big grin before reading out his total. Soften the blow and all that, even though really the journals were reasonably priced. As was everything in the store.

Roger chuckled as he reached into his coin purse to pull out a couple of coins. Depositing in Verity's hand, he grinned at her. "Well that's a ruddy shame," he said with a smile as he picked up the journals. As much as he would have loved to continue to chat and flirt with the pretty blonde, he had a couple of other things to do that day before the shops closed. "Was lovely to see you, Verity. Take care, yeah?"

"Great to see you too, Roger." She flashed him a cute smile and a little wink- that always kept the attractive ones coming back- and waved as he stepped away from the counter.

Depositing the money into the till, she grinned. "Come back by!"

Chuckling mostly to himself, Roger grinned at Verity over his shoulder as he reached the door. He was sure she was quite serious, and had no desire to disappoint the poor girl. "I'm sure I will, just to see your lovely face," Roger said with a wink as he opened the door and headed back outside.
