Bellatrix was sitting at the low bench before the dresser, combing her long dark hair. She had missed being able to do simple things like this during those long years in That Place. She'd missed clean dressing gowns and clean hair and most of all she had missed waking beside her husband.

The Dark Lord's Cause was her Cause and while he had her complete loyalty, her heart belonged to her beloved Rodolphus. Speaking of whom, she wondered where he had wandered off to after cursing that house elf for waking them so early.

To be free was a glorious feeling because now he could move around with ease and without consequences. No nasty Dementors to suck what was pleasant from him, no cage to keep him separated from his love. Rodolphus didn't mind that the Dementors were out in the country side, free to act as they pleased. He was free and could wake beside his wife each day.

Rodolphus had woken much to early for his taste and had down his duty in cursing the house elf for doing so. He was not pleased with the fact he was up, when one did not work why couldn't they sleep in. He had stalked off to his study yanking a bottle of Fire Whiskey from the mahogany cupboard followed by a crystal glass. He poured a drink sitting down looking out the window waiting for the post. He received his Daily Prophet reading the main news and running over the list of muggleborns wanted or caught, a sneer on his lips before knocking back more of the liquid before pouring more into the glass. Rodolphus walked out of the study with glass in hand heading back to find his wife.

Standing in the doorway he tilted his head against the frame, "Dear how are you?" His rough voice softer when he spoke to Bella.

"I, my love, am in a very good mood." She opened her dark eyes and looked at him in the mirror. "I have had a nice, long, hot bath. And I am now looking forward to a day spent in your company."

She turned around, smiling at him as she rose to her feet and swayed in his direction. "Things are going quite well at the Ministry. Our Lord is pleased and wishes to ponder his next moves carefully. It gives me the opportunity to give you my full attention." Smirking, she took a sip from his glass.

"Good to hear," Rodolphus watched her in her mirror as she spoke. As she mentioned the bath he had to admit he liked that, the shampoo she had smelt so amazing, perhaps it smelt better than before because it had been so long since he had smelt it. "I'm glad, cause I am looking forward to it as well." Nothing could spoil the pleasure he felt with just being in her company they could sit and talk and it would suit him just fine.

Looking at her as she took a sip from his glass her had that almost smile on his lips. "You're full attention, I think Christmas has come early." His rough hand moved to her cheek and gently rubbed his thumb over her smooth cheeks. With his other hand he took his glass back before leaning forward and gently kissing her lips. "So what do you have in mind for today my dear?" He said as they parted, he always hoped the please her.

She tilted her cheek subtly into his touch, her eyes never leaving his. "I thought we might explore the gardens or perhaps go strolling down Diagon. It is time that people saw us together, free and in public, don't you think, my love?"

She trailed her hand down the center of his chest as she stepped around him. "That would be later this afternoon, of course. This morning, I thought we might spend simply being together."

"I think both of those ideas could come true, I think we can make time for both." Rodolphus thought the world of Bella and he would do anything to make her happy. "I agree though people do need to see us free together in public."

Rodolphus was distracted through by the feeling of her hand on his chest, any sort of contact from her always made him a bit distracted, that was unless he was on a task for their Lord. He took a sip finishing off his last glass of fire whiskey for the morning. "I like the idea of spending time together," he said putting the glass down on the nearest surface he could, the house elf would find it. Rodolphus moved to standing him her and wrapped his arms around her. "I do adore spending time with you."

	Bella relaxed back into his embrace. "I look forward to these moment, my darling. I hate having to share you with anyone." She let her head loll back onto his shoulder. Rodolphus took in the scent of her hair as her head rested on his shoulder. His head rested against hers and nodded his head. "I don't like sharing you either," he said softly as he gave her a squeeze. "This place has grown on me, at least it is better than a cell." He said quietly into her ear, "but it is no Lestrange manor that is for sure, but soon I will take you home."

"Exactly the way it should be, and we can be happy in our home." Rodolphus felt her move around in his arms and he had that almost smile back on his lips as he was pulled down to kiss him. Rodolphus kissed back almost disappointed at the needed to part a nd come up for air.

He let her slip from his arms but now without a little reluctance. "Well I don't think I could say no to that," he would follow her anywhere. It was unfortunate to have such a weakness but he wouldn't give her up ever.

She loved the way he looked at her - as if she was all that mattered in the world. Even a woman of her breeding could be swept away by the notion that such a man could center his world on her.

"We have yet to properly try out that lovely chaise on the terrace. The climate charms should have it nice and warm out there." She flitted away in front of him, looking back over her shoulder coyly. "I think you could use some sun, my love. Pale and aristrocratic is my look."

"Go and I shall follow," he said walking behind her as she headed in the direction of the terrace, he really had no complaints about going outside when there was climate charms. September was upon them and it was bringing a crispness to the air. "Well I suppose some colour could never hurt me," he awkwardly chuckled and shook his head. "What do you prefer me with a little colour?"

"I prefer you any way I can get you, my husband." Bellatrix flung open the French doors and lifted her face into the breeze that lifted her hair and sent it flying.

She crossed the flagstones in her bare feet and draped herself across the chaise. "Come lie with me, Rodolphus." This weakness, this gentle sentimentality was only acceptable here, when they were alone. They could not afford to let that be seen by outsiders.

	Rodolphus followed behind and watched as the breeze caught her hair and he caught the slight scent in the air. He watched her as she crossed to the chaise and she looked so graceful. Rodolphus gave a throaty sound which was similar to a laugh as he nuzzled against her. He loved the feeling of his arms around her and her curled into his. Rodolphus kissed the top of her head. "The future my dear is everything you want it to be. You will have fine things and be in the Lestrange manor. The world will be of only the right sort, a proper world that we can bring a strong pureblooded son into." He didn't see any other world fit for their children.

She stilled for a moment. A son. She longed to present her husband an heir of his line and body, but that was also one of her few true fears. What if her years in That Place had damaged her? If she could not bear the children he deserved, would she have the will to give him up to preserve the Lestrange line? With Sirius gone, however much she hated her cousin, the Black name was gone forever. Only ickle Draco remained as a hope that at least the magics of her family would continue.

She loved her husband; she would not burden him with her fears until after their duties to their Lord were completed. "Only a son?" she laughed, "what of a daughter also? A daughter with my beauty and your strength would draw the best suitors from across the Wizarding World."

A son was pushing it in his mind, he feared the thought of raising a child. He would be a terrible father, but then he didn't have much of display to go off of. He was too emotionless to give anything to a child, and he doubted he could love a child when the love he had was for Bellatrix, Of course in a proper world at least having a weakness like a wife and child would not be such a problem.

"A daughter would be lovely with your looks, let us hope she does not get to many of mine," Rodolphus gave that throaty sound of a laugh. "I do say she would bring in proper suitors, we would make sure of that. Just as we would make sure our son found a proper woman." Rodolphus had never thought of having a daughter, the idea of one child was enough to make him worry.
