Looking around her front room, Melinda hoped it would be big enough to fit people. She'd heard from a few people who were interested in coming, and that meant there were probably more who hadn't said anything who were planning on it, just for the free beer.

There were snacks on the table by the window, another table of drinks (which she really hoped would be replenished as people began showing up or it would be a truly pathetic party), and seating around the edge.

The wireless was on its stand, tuned to the WWN, which had promised an evening of dance music. Hopefully they meant popular and not Celestina Warbeck (Merlin hex her if it was a Warbeck night).

All in all, things looked perfect. Now, people just had to show up.

	"Oh, thank you," Melinda replied, glancing down at her dress. "It's new - I figured if you can't splurge on yourself, who can you splurge on?" Smiling, she led Janelle into the kitchen. "Here - I didn't put out the breakables, but I trust you not to shatter it on the floor," she said, opening a cabinet and taking out a glass. "Where are you working these days?" "I agree, who needs a fella to buy you things you should just buy it yourself," Janelle laughed slightly. "Just like I bought this one for the occasion." Going to a party with a new dress always set the right tone in Janelle's opinion.

Following Melinda into the kitchen she smiled. "Thank you," she looked at the glass, "I will be sure not to break it." She put the bottle of wine down to start opening it. "Oh I'm working at Misty Missy's Tea Shop in Diagon Alley. What about yourself?"

"It's gorgeous. Where'd you get it? You know, we should go shopping sometime - I heard about a store in Muggle London not long ago, actually. Harry's? I don't remember the name, but the dress was adorable!"

Her eyes lit up as Janelle mentioned the tea shop. "Oh, I haven't been there in ages. I'll have to pop around sometime. I'm over in the Ministry, being shared between the MLE and the Muggleborn Registration Committee. Drone work, really, but it's a job."

"At this cute little vintage shop I found when strolling Muggle London." Janelle loved shopping and the thought of going with a friend seemed like a good idea to her. "A shopping trip would be fabulous I could take you to the little shop."

"You could always stop in on a lunch hour," Janelle shrugged as she finally got the cork out of the bottle, she had been struggling with it. "Well drone work is still a job, and it allows you to buy nice things."

Janelle chuckled, "I am sure you will enjoy the lunch we serve much better than that." Janelle spoke as she started pouring her first glass of wine for the evening. "A please help yourself to the wine if you want it."
