As they started down the gentle slope toward the village, Lila ran her hands over her clothing. It was totally unlike what she'd been wearing a few minutes earlier. The dress didn't impede her freedom of movement much. Even the tightly-laced bodice was surprisingly comfortable and she could breathe easily--but there was something...
She reached down between her breasts and pulled her knife out of her bodice. "Score!" At least she was still armed.
She sheathed the knife again, carefully, and then drew it a couple of times. It definitely wasn't as quick or easy to grab as it had been at her waist, but it was workable. "The sum total of my assets now is this knife," she said to Nina. "What about you?"
As they walked along, she felt the sun on the back of her neck, and reached up to find her neck bare, and her hair piled up on her head in what felt like an elaborate fashion. Her hair wasn't long enough to do that--or hadn't been. She was tempted to take it down to check, but didn't think she could put it back up. Later, then.
"What do you think of our new wardrobes?" she asked Nina.
