TITLE: Morning Shift
TIME/DAY: January 15; Morning
TAKES PLACE AFTER: Everything
CHARACTERS: Zach; OPEN
WARNINGS: Defaults

He wouldn't have taken the morning shift if he didn't have classes later, already up and about by six in the morning to head to work. It wasn't like he did much - restocking, bagging once in a while, maybe even walking around the store to do inventory and replace all those things customers didn't put back in their proper places. Easy job, all things considering. Running a hand over his head as he passed through the isles with a cart in front of him, Zach kept his eyes out for anything out of place - grabbing products here and there that were obviously out of place and tossing them in. People were lazy, but it wasn't like he could complain about it. It was his job after all; a way to make some money that would be sucked up by bills or tuition and books.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me." He said, stopping to look to a shelf of boxes that someone had knocked into without bothering to pick up. Probably a kid who wasn't being watched by his parents -- Those were the usual suspects; their time at the store spent running and screaming down the isles, all kicks and giggles, until they realized their parents were across the store. Then they'd start crying and someone would have to take them up to the front registers in order to get the parents' attention which should've been on them in the first place. Rounding the cart with a disgruntled sigh, he knelt down to start to pick up the cereal boxes and place them back on the shelf. He already had his work shift pegged for a long five hours.

Claire smiled when she saw he was working, then frowned in sympathy when she realized how much he must ove his job. She knew what it was like to work in that sort of place.

"Hi," she finally said, smiling again as she walked up to him. "Need some help?" It had been too long since she'd seen him.

"Hey." Zach looked up from the boxes, giving Claire a nod of his head - the 'dude nod' - before looking back to the boxes as he stacked them back up. There weren't too many, but that still didn't mean he was happy about some kid who probably ran his hand along the tops just to see if they'd fall down or not.

"Nah, it's all in a day's work." He replied, smiling slightly as he looked back up to her, tossing the last box up before standing himself up. "It is just the thing I want to look for at the beginning of the day." He commented sarcastically, light-hearted about it neverthe less.

"What's going on?"

"Works sucks all around I guess," she commented, thinking about her job at Blockbuster. "I just thought I'd drop by and see how things were in your corner of the world," she added, leaning down to help him even though he'd told her not to. She couldn't just stand there. "So, what have you been up to?"

"That fantastic kind of boring I can't seem to get enough of." Zach replied, smile still on his face. Work - at least this kind of work - wasn't exactly something he looked forward to and did simply for the money. The computers and the cameras - That was what proved to be the better of the two. "Just school and work mainly. Not the most exciting lifestyle, but hey - I'm not complaining. Not too much anyway. How about you?"

"Actually," she said, blushing a little bit. "That's why I wanted to talk to you. I want you to meet someone." Kasie had met Fletcher. Now it was Zach's turn.

Zach caught on quick, giving her a bright smile as if to immediately tease her about it. "What's his name?"
