HEY GUYS. If you like supernatural settings, EXCELLENT WRITERS!!, the idea of heaven versus hell plus a smattering of naturals, occultists, and magical merchants further complicating THAT battle, then ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) gates_mods is for you. SERIOUSLY, this game is fantastic, full of dynamic, thoughtful characters; a beautifully-crafted world easy to slip into; FREE REIGN TO DO AS YOU PLEASE FOR THE MOST PART (and there is so much to do, let me tell you); and just. ugh. Epic, epic shit will/does/should go down. It's an easy game to keep up with and could use new faces, which is where YOU come in!! And seriously, it is the WARMEST GAME I'VE EVER BEEN IN – the members are ALL so kind and nice, believe me, because I'm a relative newbie there myself. It's been around for a while so the longevity is there, and I am particularly keen on getting family, as well as some other lines, for my lovely Yoshi yasaotoko!
A bit on Yoshi – a Japanese merchant, a family man who hides his cutthroat tendencies behind this rather blase exterior. Think of the Merchants as a kind of magical mafia in that they keep track of the Market where occult goods and magical items~*~ get sold. Powerful? YES, EXTREMELY. Rich? YOU GOT IT. They are multinational, fiercely aligned with one another, and have an entire little subculture basically surrounding their awesome circumstances that is detailed more here. He's married to a Chinese woman from ANOTHER merchant family, and it was a marriage of love, I ASSURE YOU. They also have four children! Two boys, two girls.
THINK OF THE FUN. His children would have lived all over the world and with numerous other Merchant families, meaning you basically could have done ANYTHING with their lives and are hardly limited by the fact that the Hashimoto family's homebase is in Sapporo. For example, Yoshi works heavily with the London Market and thus spends a great deal of his time in England -- his children and wife are welcome to follow suit, if you may so choose.
THEY ARE ESSENTIALLY BLANK SLATES. Names and ages are mostly up to you (though I request the children be between the ages of 28 to 19).
THAT'S NOT ALL THE STORYLINE OPPORTUNITIES THAT YOSHI HAS AVAILABLE HOWEVER. There are the MANY Merchant families he spent time with as well and they are BASICALLY BLANK SLATES. The Hirsch family in Hamburg, Germany (boisterous, welcoming); El Alami in Marakkech, Morocco (and he had his first romance with their daughter before he was sent off expressly for that reason); the Chungs in Seoul, South Korea; the Tanakas in Naha, Okinawa; and lastly, the Inoues in Osaka – and for a brief time, he was engaged to THEIR eldest daughter before he ditched her for his current wife. YEOWCH (there should definitely be something done with that).

I'd LOVE my Gilderoy unsurpassable to have more friends from his class and house in Ravenclaw. In his school days, he ran with a group of young, philandering boys who liked to break hearts and – well, that was basically it. Not the Marauders, of course, but they were a group of close friends. If someone could app one of those boys (and there are names that could TOTALLY be those boys: Amos Diggory? Ogden? Zabini, Nott, Lovegood, etc.?)
ALSO: if someone could app more of Cho Chang's family (and more specifically, MAY CHANG'S FAMILY! mayhapsblossom), that would be stellar. May is the youngest of four, and one of her older brother's is actually Cho's father, but anyone from the Chang family is very welcome.
It's a really exciting premise – Marauder's Era during the first war, lots of political shenanigans. Diagon Alley was just attacked by the Death Eaters and the world is reeling from that. I also play Charity Burbage charitous & Kingsley Shacklebolt noblemans if anyone has ideas for them. I'm down for anything. ♥
