Carrie had to admit, it was a little weird for her to be here with her parents being younger than her, but it was nice to get to know them at this age. She was working on cooking, her dad knew how, but she liked to get in some practice. Carrie was listening to her iPod as she cooked, and Finn was sitting at the kitchen table reading a comic book. It was different, in her time, he still read comic books, but he read actual books too. Carrie liked it though, it was just like back home. Her cooking at the stove and him reading at the table. Carrie had always wondered why he wasn't one of those dads that read the newspaper. She wasn't surprised, honestly.
She started to sing along, she was making vegan mac and cheese and fried chicken, and her mother would have a salad. Carrie didn't mind having some things vegan, and she liked that her mother cared so much about something. Carrie sang as she moved the chicken through the flour, dancing a little, getting a chuckle from her father. She grinned and turned to look at him as she sang some more, she had gotten her parents' musical talent, but for her it was just a hobby.
Finn liked to hear Carrie sing. She was good at it, and he wished that she would do it professionally. He got it that she didn't want to though. It was just something that she had decided wasn't for her. Finn got that. He liked that she was passionate about school and writing. It was something that he hadn't ever been good at . She seemed to take after her mother that way. It was something that he admired. He sang along with her, getting up to stand with her at the counter as she worked.
