Liz had spent most of the morning at the hospital waiting with Kara for the doctor to come check her out. She was getting every test known to man run to make sure she was healthy after Liz healed her. Of course, they couldn't tell the doctor that. He would think they were absolutely insane. They just claimed she needed to get a work up required her drivers license and left it at that.
Once the tests were started, Liz headed out for a few hours because she didn't want to sit in the waiting room when she could be productive. Having not heard back from the two perspective jobs about positions being opened, she waked around town grabbing applications. She had a pile in her hands as she walked into a coffee shop to grab a drink so she could have something to keep her going as she filled them all out.
Getting in line, she was behind a tall man with long hair. She didn't think anything of it until she heard his voice as he spoke his order and she froze. That voice, it sounded so familar. She may not have been home to Roswell in sixteen years but she would never forgot that voice. It haunted her at night in her dreams of what could have been had she given into him and went back home. She would know that voice anywhere.
"Max?" She spoke, thinking out loud when she didn't mean to.
