“If she starts tormenting living creatures you may want to worry about her,” Cody remarked, his tone clearly joking. “But I think doll-cide is alright and not at all considering serial killer behavior.” In truth he had had his fair share of doll tormenting as a child. Natalie would probably never forgive him for the time he set her favorite doll on fire, even if he had turned around and saved said doll. “I suppose I just keep hoping you’re a better person than that,” He teased, mouth quirked into a half-grin. “And don’t forget I turn to stone when the sun comes up.” Joking around like this was far better than focusing on the seriousness of their situation.
Cody chuckled softly. “You should come with some kind of handbook,” in all fairness most people should come with some kind of handbook, it would eliminate that portion of time when people were still trying to feel each other out. “And yet you run some of the scary by having to actually declare that MomZor is scary.” He laughed, that smirk from earlier still in place. “DadZor usually has to fall in line to whatever MomZor wants.” Except in his case of course, he didn’t have to fall into line for anyone but himself. Cody appreciated Raine’s comment, even if some days he felt like there had to have been something more he could have done. “I figure we’re probably better without her.” Cody liked to see the positive side of things, it made the whole single parent thing easier.
“I’d still take home over this, honestly,” Sure he still had his support system in Natalie wherever he went. Cody would still take Chicago over this island, hands down. “They’re kids, it’s a rule.” Thankfully Sydney had yet to pull a disappearing act, but he was sure it could happen at any point. “Seeing it as positive keeps me from going insane,” Cody remarked. “But I can see why not everyone can see the brighter side.”
Kids always seemed to make friends easy, or at least to Cody’s knowledge the did. He could admit his experience with children both began and ended with Sydney. “I’m sure your girls will continue to be able to make friends easily,” he commented with a faint smile. “And how about we try not to think of dangerous the three of them could be together.”
“Hey, I was just pointing out the obvious in your MomZor theory, totally not my fault.” Cody remarked in a mock serious tone. “That shouldn’t have bumped me down to ‘kinda’ I don’t think.” Again, he was teasing.
