"No, Dylan, we can't," Daniel said softly, instinctively reaching out to steady his daughter as she stumbled on something. "Ok?" he asked her softly and he allowed himself a small smile at her nod and attempt to straighten up. Both of them were strong and too grown up for their ages, he wished they didn't have to be.
Daniel turned his attention back to Dylan. "If we're able to, we can stay there for a while to rest."
