The Arrival
A loud snap is heard, and then something not far away seems to sizzle. Suddenly an arch of electricity flashes above and then another and then another. A blinding blue light flashes and the surrounding area seems to melt and is replaced with crumbling buildings, deserted dirty streets, and high above a sunless red sky.
The air is dry and an electrical storm is flashing up above. The storm only lasts moments, and soon the street is silent and darkness seems to be creeping forward. Lights in the surrounding crumbling buildings quickly go out out, as though the occupants wish to have nothing to do with what is happening. Scrambling noises can be heard from the surrounding rubble - which seem to be growing closer, and in the distance, broken strings of an unfamiliar tune can be heard.
