Emily felt...dirty. She had taken a shower after the truth about everything came out. The wager...how it was all an act. A stupid bet. She had scrubbed her skin raw feeling disgusting. But no matter how hard she scrubbed she couldn't erase the feeling. How could she have been so stupid? Of course it was fake. What would a guy like Davian see in a girl like her. He wanted someone who was more dark and dangerous. Of course she was just a bet to him. She was stupid to think he may possibly...care for her. She hated him...she hated both of them. Ambriel was an angel...wasn't he supposed to be above all this. No matter, they better both stay away when she got back...she wasn't kidding about her lightning.
Right after it came out she had sobbed on her bed for hours. Sure she composed herself enough to give confident responses. She wouldn't let them win. Emily knew that if she let them know they got to her or...won...it would be ten times worse. Neither one of them would win this bet...she was a human and she wasn't perfect, neither was she completely corrupted. She was a human, beautifully flawed and that was okay.
Emily decided to take a walk to gather her thoughts some more and found herself at the park where she always used to watch Ollie practice. Ollie...she had been so awful to him. He had been trying to protect her and she had snapped and not spoken to him. She wanted to apologize...tell him everything but...she was ashamed. Ashamed of herself. She always prided herself on her cleverness. Would he be ashamed of her? Would he try to retaliate for her against them? No...she didn't want that...it was her problem, she could handle herself.
Her trek froze when she saw him. Doing tricks with such ease and...there went the shirt. That caused a little smile to come to her face as she shook her head and rolled her eyes as she noticed some of the other stare at him. The smile fell as she noticed some of the burns marring his body. Remembering how and why they happened caused a weight to settle in her stomach. She took a breath and continued walking forward. Not wanting to disturb him she took a seat on one of the benches like she usually did when she'd watch him practice.
Her eyes stayed fixed on him and when their gaze locked she gave a little half smile and a little wave.
