Now it was Ollie's turn to feel embarrassed...and guilty...and a bit like an ass. He looked at her with sympathy in his eyes. How had he not realized it? Obviously for a while during the date, he was hoping to have some kind of feelings for her more than friendship, but he was just so distracted by Emily and... Well he just didn't really think that his playfulness would lead her to think... He should have. He really should have. "I'm sorry," he told her, "I should have known. I was just so distracted that night by..." he stopped himself before actually saying what had actually been going on in his head that night. Most all of his actions were in order to make Emily not feel like there was anything wrong.
"You're an absolutely wonderful girl," he assured her, "You know that, right?" He was actually wishing he was feeling something more for Sara, but for whatever reason, his mind still just wouldn't get away from Emily and the fact that she didn't want to go with him... as friends or otherwise. "If you don't want to go with me now, that's fine," he told her, "I'll be fine." Probably just wouldn't go.
