Notice: House PSA
WHO: Ladon House
WHEN: Posted Thursday morning
WHERE: Ladon House bulletin board
Here are a few rule reminders and a new House policy that is being implemented. Questions, concerns, comments? You know where to find me. |
ROOM INSPECTIONS: |
Don't panic. Room inspections are standard for most private boarding schools and because we're privileged to live here, we need to treat the grounds and our own personal space with the respect it's due. These inspections are to ensure a safe environment to live and study. I will conduct room inspections once a month and this is what I'll be looking for: ● General cleanliness: Floors, work surfaces, beds, windows, etc. ● Maintenance issues: non-functioning windows, doors, broken furniture, etc. ● Sign of contraband: alcohol, cigarettes, or anything else not permitted on school grounds, including illegal substances. The nose knows. ● Unauthorized appliances: hotplate, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, etc. ● Fire Code: exits are clear of clutter and windows are not blocked Keep in mind, your space is still your personal space and I respect individual decorating tastes and preferences. I won't be invading without notifying you in advance when inspections will be held. A schedule will be posted and you'll have time to clean up if you haven't already. This will be on a pass or fail basis. If you pass, good for you. If you fail, you have three days to correct the issue. If the problem persists, the Headmistress will be notified. First inspections will begin June 9th. Initial at the bottom of this page that you've read and understand this notice. As always, my door is open. |
HOUSE MENTORS: |
I'm going to be interviewing each of you over the coming weeks, not only to get to know you better and have a chance to sit one on one, but to also seek out those interested and capable of becoming House Mentors. Ladon is a House of leaders here at St. Margaret's and I want to tap into the potential of our numbers to help make Ladon even greater than it currently is. Cultivating House pride is an important part of making it through your years at St. Margaret's. Ladon House motto is Growing Strong, and we are strong in unity. If you're interested in becoming one of the two Mentors of the House, notify me with why you believe you'll make a good mentor to your peers and I'll take you under consideration. Otherwise, I'll be asking those I feel up to the task directly. -Mr. Kaden |
