Kana wasn't feeling well. That was obvious from her appearance as she was simply wearing a black form fitting tank top paired with some jeans she had not taken apart for material yet. The jeans were slightly tattered around the knees and frayed near the bottom. On any normal day, she wouldn't be caught dead in something so ragged, but as this was not a normal day, she felt it was probably just good that she managed to put anything on at all without catching the dorm on fire.
Thus far, it appeared all the techniques that Mr. Dallas had been teaching her were helping, but she still couldn't get rid of this strange feeling. She had never been bothered by heat before, but there was something about this time that was just causing her to be sick. She felt as though her body were on fire, and that was something that she didn't even feel when her body was actually on fire. She skipped her classes for the day, hoping that Mr Cavanaugh would help her explain later if she got in trouble for it, and instead she just stayed in the shower for most of the day. It didn't help; in fact, the whole girls' bathroom was filled with steam by the time she got out despite the fact that she only turned the nozzle for cold.
She hoped Cavanaugh's idea of trying to do this ritual with a witch would help, for she was out of ideas. She was also running out of pills. She knew it was not a good idea to take so many, but what else could she do? Let the building burn?
When the time came, she knocked on Garret's door. She then stepped back so that he wouldn't feel too much of her heat. She had determined that it was primarily skin deep, but she still didn't want to chance burning the boy. He had been nothing but nice to her in the past, so she would feel horrible if anything happened to him. "Garret?" she called out, trying to make sure she didn't sound too sickly, "Are you ready?"
