Thread: Summertime Tips To Fall
WHO: Brendan and Neculai
WHEN: Aug. 1
WHERE: Camden
Nick would look back on his first ever summer with fond memories for a long time. He felt like he'd done it all. Summer job? Check. Neculai had worked at the summer festival in Camden. While working a booth, he'd been approached by an out-of-towner who happened to work for a modeling agency and wanted to represent him. What better way to honor Sorin's memory than to let his face be seen? Nick had agreed and signed up, did some headshots at a studio in Rockport, and was looking forward to his first modeling gig.
Travel to Europe? Check. Brendan invited Neculai out to the Netherlands to stay with his family and it had been almost too overwhelming for Nick to handle. Brendan's mother was amazing and their home was a revolving door for family and friends who were always welcome. Brendan's brother was also amazing and oh-so-easy on the eyes. By the end of his stay at the Visser household, Nick would say he'd grown almost as protective of Brendan's brother as Brendan himself. Brendan and Nick went dancing in Amsterdam, freely smoked pot, and saw the sights.
Summer fling? Check. Nick and Brendan still weren't sure which of them Amy, their fellow festival worker, was more into. They'd been showing off to her for most of the festival and arguing amiably over which one Amy would pick. It ended up being them both in a threesome and so another first for Nick had been accomplished during the summer.
Now it was only two weeks before classes started up again and things with the festival were winding down as tourists left to return to their own cities and neighborhoods. It was a slow day at the festival, but things usually picked up more after dark. Nick was sitting on a stool at the ticket booth with his chin in his hands and gazing up at the blue cloudless sky, lost in thought. A small electric fan was turned on in the booth and it helped circulate some of the air, but still Nick was too hot. He absently took a sip of the nearly tepid Coke beside him and sighed, fanning himself with his shirt.
"Today sucks."
