Felicity didn't have to be closely observing Ms. Pearl in order to see that speaking of her children came with a tinge of sadness. The explanation that came clarified things. Felicity couldn't imagine just packing up and leaving your family, but she wasn't so blind to think that all cultures had matched her own. Elves were family oriented for the most part. That is until one of them stepped out of line, but that was a complicated issue.
"How old is she now?" Felicity asked, continuing to eat, though at a less hasty pace than before. The food was delicious and just what she needed. She was more amiable with food in her belly, but considering it was Felicity, amiable wasn't always a word that one would use with her. She knew that other students believed her a snob, and she didn't care. It just showed how insecure they really were.
