Thread: Dreamweavers
WHO: Craig and Teddy
WHEN: Monday night / Tuesday morning, around 2-4a.m.
WHERE: Sphinx dorm, to start
The anticipation of some grade A magic had Craig in an energetic, euphoric mood all day long, not to mention the evening. He'd barely been able to pay a bit of attention in any of his classes, his thoughts dwelling on cementing the details of all the magic that he and Teddy had planned for the night. There would be a blood moon that night, a very rare phenomenon where the full moon would be passing through the Earth's shadow, eclipsing it in a red hue. It was an excellent occasion to do some magic, and they had made plans to do just that, despite the time of night that it was happening.
After dinner, Teddy had arrived at his dorm, and they got to work. Their ultimate goal was to make dreamcatchers, dreamcatchers with real magical qualities imbued into the wood, yarn, feathers, and wooden beads. The hope was that the finished products would help to offer peaceful, uninterrupted sleep, as well as some measure of protection from spiritual disturbances. They started with the framework, forming willow branches into round designs, securing it together with yarn that they'd dyed with charms. As they did so, they kept busy with conversation, most of it Craig asking more questions about the school and their classes, their teachers, their classmates, and the different species of creatures populating the school, grounds, and nearby town. Once they'd finished making their catchers, one for Teddy's friend with the ghost issues, one for each of them, and another for Craig to give away, they readied the yarn webbing and beads and feathers for them, dying some, then took some time to rest. Two a.m. wouldn't come for a while, and they did want to get some sleep.
Craig had put on the television for them to veg out and eventually fall asleep to. He'd been gentlemanly and relinquished his bed to Teddy, sitting up beside it with a blanket under him and another over him. He usually slept in the buff, tonight he'd kept his track pants on, at least until he was under his blankets and could surruptitiously shrug them off. He couldn't help it, he was just vastly more comfortable that way. He had stayed awake longer than he'd planned, watching t.v. and still having some sporadic conversation with Teddy, but Craig did eventually drift off to sleep, leaning against the bed, resting his head on his arms on the mattress.
When the alarm went off, Craig jolted awake, his arm swatting out to slap the alarm clock and shut off the alarm. He looked at it, seeing that it was going to be two a.m. soon and they'd need to be starting. Craig looked over at his guest, still sleeping peacefully at the moment, blissfully unaware of the alarm. He looked almost angelic, and Craig felt almost loathe to wake him. They had work to do though, so it had to be done. Craig reached out and gently shook Teddy's shoulder.
