Thread: Picking Up The Pieces
WHO: Tanek & Sorin
WHEN: Friday evening, Jan. 27
WHERE: Tanek's dorm, Kitsune House
Thanks to the help of his friends, Sorin was getting back into the flow of things after being trapped outside of the physical world for so long. He and Dana had spent some time together revisiting each other, sharing space, making each other feel good. Sorin felt the need to reassure her that he loved her and that he was really himself, returned, and gave her as much attention as he could. They talked about many things. Then he had stayed in her room with her through the night, sleeping beside her.
Before Andrei left, Sorin spent time with him, too. He reassured his vampire lover that he was going to be fine, that no permanent harm had come to him. Sorin thanked Andrei over and over for coming to help. He made sure Andrei left knowing he was loved and missed and even joked about keeping him there forever, to have all to himself. But Andrei had others he needed to get back to, and Sorin had others he needed to see to, and the two of them parted ways once more.
Barclay helped Sorin begin to rebuild his stock of potions and undo the damage that Neculai had done to the apothecary cabinet. Ingredients needed to be ordered and harvested and Barclay helped Sorin with that, too. Sorin was very grateful to the Druid and told him so many times over. Barclay and his dragon had to get back to their own travels, though, and soon Ashton flew the Druid away from the castle, back to whatever corner of the world they were going to explore next. Sorin envied them that freedom, but turned back to his duties and schooling at St. Margaret's with a firmer footing thanks to Barclay.
Each of the Anton refugees received one on one time with Sorin. Not all of them were Sorin's lovers, other than Bayani, Sidro, and Ellie. But Sorin looked after each of them with equal devotion and wanted to know all they had been up to these past four months and whether or not Neculai had hurt them. They all seemed relieved that he was himself again and some felt foolish to have been tricked by a reflection, but Sorin reassured them that everything was alright now. Nick was gone for good.
The only Anton family refugee that Sorin couldn't find was Imani. She was hiding and avoiding him and the rest of them, and Sorin was growing increasingly concerned. Neculai had done something to her, he was sure of it. But he wouldn't force her to come out. He worried from a distance, giving her space, hoping she would come back to them.
Gilderoi helped Sorin as well. The elf was a fierce and passionate lover and Sorin enjoyed him very much. He had yet to grow very emotionally attached to Gilderoi, but the sex was good and the two of them had fun. Sorin was grateful for his generous help.
Sorin made amends with Sara, too. Sara had been on her own the past four months with Neculai disinterested in anything to do with House Mentorship of Pegasus. And now that he was back, Sorin didn't feel confident that he could perform those duties while also preparing to rescue his brothers and sisters in wherever Anton castle had disappeared to. He had stepped down from the role and Sara understood, pledging her own support and giving Sorin a long hug.
After classes and after dinner hour, Sorin found himself with some free time and his thoughts wandered to Tanek. The rescue force that was preparing to travel to Anton castle was made up of not only Anton refugees, but friends and allies that the group had made in their time there. There were some refugees that Sorin did not feel should go. Tanek was one of them. The boy was unstable and Sorin was not sure that he would leave anyone alive there, if given the chance. Their rescue operation was not a revenge mission. But try to tell that to a group of teenage witches who had been abused for years at the hands of the adults in that place. Even Sorin was tempted. But revenge was not in his blood. He did not want violence. He only wanted the rest of their brothers and sisters to be freed.
Sorin decided to go check in on Tanek and maybe see for himself if the boy was progressing as he claimed. The incident with Neculai likely didn't help Tanek's state of mind.
"Tanek?" Sorin knocked on the bedroom door in Kitsune dorms before trying the doorknob. He nudged the door open and peeked inside with a smile. "Is me. I brought some of Vixey's cookies from Pegasus. They are fresh."
