Thread: Public enemies
WHO: Sasha Park and Ambriel Triádhos
WHEN: December 30th (backdated)
WHERE: Near the library
Seeing the school so empty was nice. Sometimes people passed by along the corridors or in the common rooms, but mostly Sasha was alone. It made it easier to explore not just the school, but the freedom he now possessed. He spent most of his time in his room, watching youtube videos or the sunset or even some of the other students who'd stayed behind as they ventured outside into the cold. Occasionally Sasha had ventured outside too, familiarising himself with the layout or just kicking dead leaves around the courtyard simply because he could.
Getting himself familiar with the school's layout was important, but the more he thought about it, the more Sasha dreaded the beginning of the new term. All of the students who'd gone home would return and a new regime of early mornings and classes he knew almost nothing about would start. All of these extra bodies filling up his space and all of these set lessons in set places at set times would take over his days. Why couldn't things just stay like this forever? Was this school really going to help him out, or had he made a mistake in choosing to attend St Margaret's?
Such questions buzzed around his head as he made his way to the library. Apparently he'd need to borrow books to do some of his schoolwork - it didn't fill him with much confidence - so it was probably best to know where he could get them from before everyone else got there before him and took the ones he needed.
Sasha wandered around the bookcases for a little while. It was so empty that he dropped his guard a little, running his fingers along the spines of the books as he walked past the shelves. He rounded a corner only to meet a dead end; taking a step back, he turned to go in the opposite direction instead, but what he saw waiting for him down the aisle brought his body to a complete stop.
Unsurprisingly, Sasha had never seen an angel before. He'd never wanted to. Terrifying and brutal, angels purged the earth of anything their god deemed impure. They were the warning issued to make demon children behave. The monster under the bed. The villain in the fairytale. Everyone grew up with a healthy dose of fear and loathing for those mysterious and rarely-sighted creatures, even half-demons. Especially half-demons.
Having to deal with the likes of Davian almost seemed like a cakewalk.
