Leon felt fear grip him that any second Teddy was going to fall off the horse, but as he watched, he could see that the creature seemed to know what he was doing with an inexperienced rider. At least it wasn't going very high. Or at least it wasn't going as high for as long as Leon could see them. He shielded his eyes against the glare, but lost sight of them beyond the treeline.
Teddy had waved, and Leon belatedly waved back, then took a few steps backwards, looking around the deserted forested area. It seemed so empty now without the pegasus and Teddy in it.
And then they were back, making a couple more laps before landing again. Leon stepped back again and could feel the hard steps of the animal as its hooves landed against the ground. His eyes raked over Teddy to be sure he was alright and grew concerned when he didn't immediately get off. Just when he was about to step forward to coax him, Teddy sat up and Leon could tell by the elated look on his face that he had enjoyed it.
Back on solid ground, Leon started to settle again. "No. No thank you. No offense." he added the last bit to the pegasus, holding up an apologetic hand. "Watching was enough."
Because Leon half expected the Pegasus to turn black when he touched him with the tainted past the voodooist had had. Some things that had disqualified him from the kind of carefree enjoyment that Teddy had had with the Pegasus.
