But the Pegasus was growing impatient and laid his ears back a moment before simply snatching the apple away from Teddy with a sinking of teeth into its flesh - missing the flesh of the witch by either practice or chance. It crunched happily and Leon breathed a sigh of relief to see that Teddy still had all his fingers.
"Now's our chance to pet him," he observed, stepping closer to the horse and nudging Teddy in front of him. He did another glance to make sure he was getting the pronoun right, too. Yep. It was definitely a male. "You go first."
