Thread: Turning Two
WHO: James and all students!
WHEN: January 15th, night time
WHERE: The Raconteur
Like last year, James' party was a casual affair. The parties the Weatherbys planned in New York were always formal and classy. The attendees were the upper crust of society, celebrities, executives, and politicians. James' mother, when she was still alive, had taught her son the finer skills of how to throw a successful party. Some of it James took to heart and put into practice. Other details he chose to alter to his own needs.
When it came to parties at the Academy, most of the residents had never seen a lavish party before and wouldn't appreciate one if they did. They would be happy with a party in a shed, and in fact James heard that had been a real scenario years ago. These casual events were comfortable, in an actual clean building, with drinks, food, and music, and James was not even wearing a tie tonight. The lights were dim, the floor was cleared for dancing, karaoke, and James even asked Alex to step into the DJ booth to get the crowd's energy up. There was a huge turnout, as there always was for James' parties, and the maximum occupancy limits were probably exceeded for the little cafe. Not that anyone was complaining the up close and personal standing room.
James made rounds. He smiled and laughed, weaving in and around the room to make sure he talked to everyone who showed up. It was his birthday, after all. It was important to him to be a good host, but he was also looking for some entertainment besides karaoke and dancing. Drama was bound to happen in a room full of adolescent high school students. It would be out of character to have a perfect night. Trouble would be the perfect birthday gift.
