Thread: Sylvan Rave WHO: Andrei & OPEN to all students WHERE: An abandoned maintenenance building in the wood WHEN: Saturday Night
People knew of the party through word of mouth, instructing them to bring their own booze, food and plastic cups. There was no set time for it to begin or end. Even the location was sort of a mystery, though cellphones helped people with finding the place. Andrei did not have Mickey's money. He did not own a house in the town, nor did he have the means to rent out a place for any sort of party. A party thrown by Mickey was a rager, the party billowing out through the house with teenagers necking and drinking everywhere. A party thrown by Andrei would be a bit... shadier.
On one of his nightly haunts, he'd found this old maintenance building deep in the woods, closer to the road that led to the cliffs than to the Academy. Twenty minute walk from the Ladon house. It was a square, concrete building that looked like it had been abandoned a long time ago. There was a gaping hole in the roof. He figured some bums sometimes slept there in the summer, because there were a few soggy mattresses there, and some trash -- empty bottles and cans. No trace of humans, though.
With the help of some other friendly delinquents, Andrei cleaned out the building of the worst debris and the mattresses. They fired up a generator, installed a proper music set with a heavy bass, and lit up the joint with christmas lights. They'd found an old bathtub, which they filled with ice and booze. It was all cheap-looking stuff: off-brand vodka, whiskey and bourbon. Andrei figured the other students would bring their own soda if they needed it. They scattered old beer crates and wooden crates around the room, making them line the walls: if they wanted to, people could sit.
There was no bathroom, but one of Andrei's mates had thoughtfully brought along three family-sized bundles of toilet paper. Another had provided some weed, and a third one had found body paint, leftover from another party. All good distractions, but the best thing (in Andrei's eyes) was the bonfire they'd build in the middle of the building. They had piled up dry wood under the hole in the ceiling, taking care to put a small circle of bricks around the bonfire. That was enough fire safety, Andrei figured. Since he thought it was an awesome idea to mix fire and drunk teenagers in the first place, it was kind of beyond him to think of more safety regulations.
Besides, teenagers were durable.
Around eight, they ignited the bonfire, giving it enough time to feed and grow before people would properly arrive. As they started blasting Pendulum, Andrei stared at the fire. The flickering flames were reflected in his dark eyes. He smirked.
