Thread : Changes
Who: Daniel and Kaden
When: Monday afternoon
Where: Kaden's office
It had been a long day for Daniel. He'd kept a stoic exterior for nearly all of it but on the inside the were-eagle was churning with emotions. It felt fairly exhausting to him to be in such close proximity to his family for the car ride, which at five hours long still felt like way too long though it was much closer than when his family had been living back in North Dakota. Daniel still felt in conflict with his family, particularly his father, who'd actually told him that he forbade Daniel from seeing "that girl who is a deer" again. Daniel, who'd always been close with his family, now found himself feeling at odds with them, and at odds with himself, torn between wanting to respect his parents and wanting to follow his heart and be with the girl who he desired.
Today hadn't been a simple drop off either. Once at the school, his parents stayed to register Daniel's younger sister and younger brother. Daniel stayed with them all at first as well, but was finally dismissed from the meeting by the Headmistress, who told him that Mr. Kaden had been wanting to speak with him as soon as he'd returned. Immensely grateful for the excuse, Daniel did excuse himself to go meet with his head of house.
Entering Ladon dorm felt like returning home for Daniel. His family had moved from his childhood home this past summer, so St. M's felt more like home than the new house did. This was quite the change from a year ago, when Daniel had come to the school under protest, not wanting to have to stay there for any longer than possible. He smiled as he saw familiar sights, things that reminded him fondly of his past year here and was likewise interested in any changes he spotted, upgrades or changes in decoration made over the summer. He gave a greeting in passing to a few housemates he'd known from last year as he walked toward Kaden's office. Stopping in front of the closed door, the were gave a strong knock against it and waited to be invited in.
