Jae didn't shift around the other weres. She often met with one of them occasionally in the woods, like Sara, but otherwise she kept to herself. It was nice to shift in a place where she likely wouldn't be seen. On other nights there were more people afoot. Full moons limited the other students to their rooms and only those allowed out on full moons were present. The forest was vast and wide, and eventually she'd run into someone but then she'd be gone again. She enjoyed the solitude of the forest at night, even in the winter. White snow blanketed the ground and made for good camouflage. Her snow white fur and four white tails could sink into the white and remain undisturbed. Her fur was almost an impossible white so it blended nearly perfectly. The only things people might see were the dark eyes and nose that could easily be dismissed as sticks or dirt. It certainly made hunting that much easier, and at some point in the evening, Jae would find herself a meal. Likely in the form of a hare or other small animal venturing out into the cold thinking themselves safe.
Peacefully she found her way to the stream nearby, head dipping down into the water as she took a drink. By the banks of the stream there wasn't much snow to hide her and so she stuck out like a sore thumb. Lush snow fur and tails used to balance her with incredible precision. The bottom of her paws were stained a bit by the loose earth, but would be wiped clean when she returned to the snow. As she lifted her head, she took in a breath, smelling the air for any nearby prey but a scent that caught her attention made her freeze.
Slowly her head turned and she spied him. He was standing there and staring at her. A nightmare in the forest but she could make out more than just his outline that the snow contrasted harshly against. The hazel eyes watching her and the mess of black hair. The smell of death that clung to every vampire like a second skin.
Leon.
At first she was motionless, staring at him and knowing that he knew what she was. He'd sought her out. Jae should have known this would happen, but the idea of him going out on a full moon seemed absurd. Perhaps vampirism changed more in Leon than his hair style or the removal of his magic. The fact he had searched her out brought a panic rising in her, the fear of discovery and her secret now known to another put her on edge. She was more animal than herself. She wasn't so much out of control as a were might be but survival instincts were powerful. All her life Jae was told that discovery would lead to her end.
She was in motion. A white blur that shortened the distance between her and Leon. It happened in the blink of an eye. One second she was standing by the water's edge and the next she was upon Leon, her teeth snarling. Preservation. The need for survival. He knew what she was. He would lead others to know what she was. If Alex was not going to find a way to kill her, someone else may. She wasn't thinking of consequences or that Mr. Kaden might already be on his way. Every instinct she was born with told her that Leon was a threat, and a threat she could not allow to remain.
