Alex was still recording when the head of the dragon turned in his direction and the voice bellowed from it. It was a deep sort of rumbling voice that made Alex realize that Davian had a point in being afraid of the obvious. The dragon was huge and Alex wasn't all that big to begin with. The video quickly ended and Alex shoved the phone into the pocket of his jacket, zipping it to keep it safe and trying to figure out how to form words to respond. Not every day you had a dragon talking to you after its bath. It's not like it had a towel nearby to cover itself with, so maybe he didn't give a fuck if he was naked.
Man. Those teeth. There were a lot of them. They were also really pointy. Toothless was not a nickname that came to made when he looked at the dragon. Wasn't one of the students a dragon? Yeah, one of those kids in Hydra.
That kid who was friends with the angel. Two tools who acted high and mighty when in reality they were both idiots in their own way. Alex told himself he shouldn't be afraid though because if this dragon did anything, Ms. Menides would know, right? That crazy bat knew everything, didn't she? That's what the rumor was and Alex was akin to believing it after meeting her. She gave him the heebie jeebies and she didn't need razor sharp teeth or enormous claws to do that. One withering glare and Alex's big mouth tended to shut up.
"Meaning of what?" he asked with a sort of croak and then cleared his throat, "Meaning of what? Can't a guy take a walk?" Alex was used to people being bigger and stronger than him, but that's where he used his mouth to prove that size and strength didn't matter. It made them dangerous, sure, but it also made them look brutish and violent.
