Thread: Playing with Fire (Alex & Ashton)
WHO: Alex Jiang & Ashton Hartley
WHEN: Jan. 31, 2015, night
WHERE: The beach
It was evening. Alex had gotten lost seeking out this beach that he heard about. It was cold as fuck, but it was better than sticking around inside the school for too long. It also helped him to avoid the random snowball fights that people had come to enjoy so much recently. He didn't like snow. Snow was cold. It was wet. It made everything he wore cold and wet. That meant everything he wore was uncomfortable and snowballs were annoying. Getting hit by them were even more annoying than having them make his heart beat faster when they barely missed him. So he trekked along until he came to the beach and found it to be very unlike the ones he was accustomed to back in California where the weather always seemed to be somewhere between mild or grossly humid. He was bundled up for the weather with a heavy winter coat, gloves, and snow boots, over a pair of thick pants and a sweater all over some thermal underwear. He was only half paying attention to the beach though because it was ugly and course. The sun was already gone and it was late and Alex found the beach. It was just too bad he didn't know how to find his way back. That was a problem and he was wondering when or if he'd ever get back. Someone would send out a search party, right? Davian may mention it in passing. Or not. That lazy fuck. Alex's ear buds were in and the wind had forced him to raise the volume loud enough that if someone had been walking next to him, they could easily sing along with the music. He was fiddling with a playlist on his phone (which also served as his mp3 player) when he noticed the movement up ahead in the darkness. He stopped walking and turned the screen off on his phone. There wasn't a full moon tonight, but it was getting there. As his eyes adjusted to the much dimmer light, he made out the shape of what it was exactly. Tugging lightly to make the ear buds pop out, he heard that the noise of the water wasn't really the tide, but what was in the water itself. "What the fuck?" he asked himself as he witnessed what appeared to be a dragon. Something straight out of a fantasy film in the water. Bathing? He frowned, then chuckled, immediately lifting up his phone, opening the camera app and taking a short film of it. Maybe he could add the "Rubby Duckie" song from Sesame Street. |
